RECEIVERS

BENGAL

I disagree, Andy. I would not love for Warrick to be a problem.

Here is a guy who was a 4th pick overall. He has signed for big money. He has only had 1 decent year (2003). Then he gets injured, comes back too early and is re-injured, re-habs for well over a year and can now barley get on the field. Then, when he finally does, he comes back following the WAS game with a sore hammy and sits out two or thee practices, of which ML has made clear that a player has to practice to play. ML also makes it sound like Warrcick must play and show he can contribute to earn his spot back, which would be ideal but there has to be a limit.

The WR spot on this team is critical. A healthy P-Dub could make a nice contribution. A broken down P-Dub costs a boat of $ and a roster spot for a guy to gain a foothold and contribute.

I think they are just trying to give him every chance to get back to his previous level before they decide he is in or out but the patience of the Bengal faithful is about up.

Smith starting DE money? Yes, IMO. I am not one of those who is constantly disappointed with him. In fact, watching him range from sideline to sideline stuffing running plays this preseason has been fascinating.

DING!!!!!

All I'll add is Justin mentioned only a week or so ago that he'd love to stay a Bengal and was very open to the idea of extending his contract. Make me the boss I'm I'm talking to him right now regardless of Peter Warricks situation.
