Semper_Fi_Dawg Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Traveling the bible belt doesnt really count for much.Ooooooooh man, that hurts. I live in Georgia which is the heart of the Bible Belt. Do you know what is truely the largest religion in the south is? It's football........and mainly college football. No geographic region of the country can even come close to the reverence that we hold for this hallowed game. So please put a little forethought into it before you go and dismiss the south with the same old worn out stereotypes(backward, inbred, redneckish, racist, etc.), because I can assure you that no matter where you live you can probably find the same type of people within a stones throw of your front porch. KiLBurn Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Big Orange got my vote... regardless of his religious views. Heathen. Quote

I'll tell you, living in Georgia what I see as more rabid than Bible-thumpers and even football fans (even though Pollack's near Trinity here), is Republicans. Not to start an entire thread of this, but suburbia Atlanta are rabid church-going republicans. Some how they've done a nasty Klingon fusion of the 2.Obviously, being a church-goer myself, I wanted to distance myself from these people because having a little sin problem isn't near as bad as voting for the wrong party. Even though I'm an independent, I voted for Kerry to just distance myself from these wacko's.I think I actually wanted Bush to win even though I am in general pissed since Iraq started and other economy decisions, but I officially cut all ties and no longer recieve and newsletters from Falwell (Thank God). I knew in Georgia my vote wasn't going to sway things much for the president, but it certainly helped me out as people can no longer push me into the group with the religious right...I don't mind being right, it's the religious thing I've got issues with. IckeyShuffle Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 "...I don't mind being right, it's the religious thing I've got issues with." Big Orangenow that's the gospel truth. I've broken off from Church Inc. that lies in bed with the Republican party and gone underground in my Christ following just to hold onto our authenticity. Meeting in homes and giving away our $$ to single moms living in our neighborhoods seems more Jesus-like than paying celebrity pastors to whore themselves out to power systems that do nothing to help single moms. now saying all of that, Big Orange gets my vote for best poster. The chaplain keeps us from taking ourselves too seriously.Who Dey and keep Kevin Walter. Quote
The Big Orange Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 That's all very nice and I appreciate that...but could you find nothing worth quoting? Never seen an empty quote box. Quote

Spain Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Religous people are cool by me till they put into the politics, The republican party has a horrible economic plan but they manipulate the religous on gods guns and gays! We should be more worried about the homless in this world and less worried about what are neighbour does in his free time! Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Holy s**t Spain, you were born in Adams Co. That explains way too much about you, I completely understand now. If I had to bet I'd probably say manchester or West Union, MAAAybe Peebles. I'm from Brown Co, or Ripley to be exact and we always say that Adams Co is one piece of land the Ohio river missed getting into KY. Quote

BengalszoneBilly Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Hey what about the chat? I live on chat when the games on Billy What about it? From the "INTERACT" link on Bengalszone's front page, this is posted:There will be a Cincinnati Bengals chat 40 minutes before each game.Any other chat times will be posted on the Message Board.I'm not certain if that's for all games, or for regular season only. The only preseason game I might show up in there at is the last on versus the Colts. Quote
BlackJesus Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Well thanks I guess I enjoy chatting with Bengal Brothers and Sisters no matter where they are. I predominatley post and am a Moderator at Go-Bengals but I like to share some of my less edgy material here and at several other Bengal forums as well. I would post here more often as I enjoy many of the members thoughts, but the restrictions are somewhat constraining for my eccentric - madman, twisted humor and I naturally usually cuss alot. (however to each their own and this is also a great board, and Bengals Nation needs boards of all types for different tastes) :player: Quote

I'll give a big AMEN to that Black Jesus! It's true the rules are a bit more restraining here, but it's not oppressive. I truly enjoy your humor. More people could use a sense of one, don't you think? Maybe it's just me getting older but I would rather punch someone in the mouth rather than trying to reason with them. You're right bro. It's you getting older. I'm already there! Quote
