Does anyone else hate ESPN now?

This channel is so gay now I can't stand it. They now have a hollywood show, I have to hear stories about canoeing champions grandparents instead of football talk. The commentators try to be funny in the lamest ways imaginable, giving Rush Limbaugh (who I hate) a hassle when he said something that is a 100% fact. Then the straw that broke the camel's back. That a$$kiss Berman called T.O. a hero on last weeks halftime show, and didn't ask 1 good question. I will watch football games on that channel, but everything else will be NFL Total Access. F ESPN. It used to be a great channel, but now they have become Schticky. It's a shame.

I noticed that too. He should have at least challenged TO, but I'm not sure how much Berman was forced into that. Maybe he was told to play nice so TO would grant more interviews. Who knows. Frankly, if need something to watch at 11pm M-Thur, tune into the Cartoon Network. Best show on TV.

He's a total idiot, hypocrite, and druggie, but don't tell me the media doesn't want to see black QB's succeed. They blow Vick like he's thrown for over 3000 yards before.

No, they have never said Vick is a great passer. They say he is a great QB, and he is. His passing is average, but he can move like no other and changes the game for the defense because they have no choice but to spy him.

but don't tell me the media doesn't want to see black QB's succeed.

That's misleading. Here's what he said.

"I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well,'' Limbaugh said. "There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."

That's obviously directed towards the media, which is his primary sticking point on his show now-a-days.

When it get's to the point when he plays a fast defense (Tampa) he get's killed, because they don't fall for it. Sure he'll get some fancy runs and all of that but I don't want Chris Perry being the Bengals running back. A QB has to throw, and with every broken leg, and the other injuries that will mount he will be gone. I want my team to win a Super Bowl, not have 1 guy making to big runs a game.

espn is pure trash.

i wish everyone would stop watching, and they would shut down.

Oh, c'mon. Shesh. Baseball Tonight, baseball games, NFL live, Outside the lines, Sunday night football, NFL Countdown, NFL primetime, are all quality shows that involve the details of that particular sport.

I will admit, I think the world series of poker is on way too much, and SportsCenter has gotten a little too flashy -- just want scores and highlights (not 50 states in 50 days -- I just don't care).

I do admit that ESPN has gone too Hollywood. What happened to the good old days when they used to have sports highlights and then a little news in the sports world and that was it? Why do they have to have shows like BBTN and NFL Live to show highlights? Those should be for highlights and analysis, but SC needs to be giving all the highlights and nothing else.

This is what SportsCenter has become...this morning, a sportscaster(whom I don't recognize) on a segue to a bit on fantasy football top ten advice says, "I'm finally doing it this year...I'm finally going to have a fantasy football team. With my first pick I tried to pick Beyonce, but they told me I couldn't."

Linda Cohn taken back by the lameness of the joke (if you can call it that), had to catch a glimpse at the teleprompter and saw this wasn't the guy just making something up on the fly, she realizes that's what the writers had for him. She dies a little bit inside and vomits just a smidget in her mouth as she remembers what Sports Center was once, quickly gathers herself and responds, "So that's who you picked, huh?"

The unrecognizable guy says, in even worse comedic timing, "Yeah, but they wouldn't let me." He then goes on to say, "But these are 10 worthy picks in your first round"

Kenny Mayne, Dan Patrick (bring back Oberman, please) and a little bit of Stuart Scott goes a long way, and Steiner once in a while as the SC mascot.

Please keep the rest of these yahoo's on 2 along with Kit.

I tell you what ticks me off is ESPN.com. Now every two out of three articles is an insider. I for one, refuse to pay for that s**t.

There commentators are just playing that neutral role. Seems like nowadays you get punished for displaying your opinion in anyway. Even that dumbass show with Stephen A Smith, all he does is kiss ass talking about how much love he has for ya, and how much he respects you. pu**ies <_<

And its worth noting that at the time Rush said that, the african-american hosts of the ESPN pregame show (Irvin and Jackson, IIRC) both agreed with him. It was the folks who heard it second hand who got in an uproar about it.

Yeah, but Irvin and TJ were bashing him the next week.

It was lame! They only went after Rush a week later because the media jumped all over the story. That pre-game show is on for what, like 3 hours, and they try saying because of 'time constraints' they did not have a chance to voice their opions when it happened...BS.... why, did we have to hear Boomer yap a little more and call a player by some dumb a$$ nickname.

Give me Chris Motensen (sp), Keith Oberman and Dan Patrck anytime and ship off Berman, and his how many ways can you say 'gone' in the Baseball All Star Home Run Derby, and Stuart Scott- who I met at a Pacers/Lakers game a few years ago and you would think he was freaking Mahamad Ali- I mean this guy would not even shake hands with folks.
