The NES Advantage Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Just watched the preseason game again and I'm putting my leftover chips on Krenzel. Both Krenzel and Bramlet didn't play well. they had our third string o-line and a STRANGE mix of recievers. Including Freddy Milons who didn't look terrible recieving or returning punts. It's awsome when your 7th string wide reciever is pretty decent too!!I have digressed.... Krenzel has something that I forgot about until watching that game. He's got some feet. He has a decent ability to get out of the pocket and get some momentum. I just think with actual NFL experience and the ability to rush if need be, he's going to beat out Bramlet. It's ALMOST a lesser of two evils, but since they're bengals and we don't have corey dillon anymore, you can't be an evil bengal! Quote
new cat Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 I would agree with this as well. Krenzel does move better than people give him credit for. One other thing that struck me when watching the game on the NFL network on Sunday was that Bramlett has had more experience as a passer, not just in this system, but in college as well. He threw the ball all the time in Wyoming. That being said, Krenzel looked as good or better than Casey in a bad situation (3rd stringers, 2 minute drill, etc). Bear in mind that Krenzel has never been in a good passing offense (OSU, Chicago). My point is that maybe this kid can get better with some coaching and experience in a passer friendly system. I believe that Krenzel has more upside than Bramlett. Just one out of shape fans opinion. Quote
DontPushMe Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Krenzel is a terrible quarterback. Im suprised hes even lasted as long as he has! Quote
joshh967 Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 I think with bramlet knowing the offense and IMO being the better of the two. He will definatly be our 3rd stringer Quote
TJJackson Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 God help me, DPM favors Bramlet as well, and he is never right.... Quote
walshfan Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Personally I dont care which one of them hold a clipboard all season... Quote
TippCityRick Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Personally I dont care which one of them hold a clipboard all season...That's not the concern. Whoever wins this position has the inside track on backup next year unless Kitna stays put. I like Bramlett overall, but I have to admit that Krenzel played better Friday night. Quote

I like Bramlett overall, but I have to admit that Krenzel played better Friday night. Kitna will stay put. He wants to live in Cincinnati because of his relatives. He's happy where God put him, and if he's willing to be 2nd string at $2 million or less, Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis will keep him here until he's 80. Quote
TippCityRick Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 It will all depend on the price. I agree that all the intangibles are here for Kitna to stay, and I hope he does, but can they pay a backup qb $2m and not extend Levi . . . Willie . . . Justin . . . etc. Tough choices. Quote
DontPushMe Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 God help me, DPM favors Bramlet as well, and he is never right.... You must not pay much attention around here. Im right at least 95% of the time. Better than anyone else here could say. Quote

If you don't have a backup QB who is good enough to make $2 mill, you're in deep doo doo, particularly when you have a QB who has 1 season as a starter, and was injured for several games in that season. Palmer is no Favre as far as being able to count on him for all 16+ games a season. Quote
IckeyShuffle Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 you can't live in the NFL w/ out a decent 2nd string QB, that would be like driving daily on I-75 w/out car insurance. we can replace willie, justin or others if we can't re-sign them, but QB'ing this offense takes time and that makes Kitna for all his flaws, pretty irreplaceable. Bramlett and Krenzel are half the qb Kitna is. Quote

I believe they're on the same page (and God knows I hope they are), but there have been too many rumblings about saving money in various places to pay for the aformentioned players with deals that are getting ready to expire. I think Kitna can be kept for the right price. Just depends if Katy and Marvin are willing to pay that price. I don't think they will be. Quote
HairOnFire Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Opinion noted, but I've got better ways to spend my $30 than betting on which backup QB I hope never plays. For those of you that want a better return on your money...go grab thirty $1's....roll each of 'em up tight...fold 'em over so the bill is only half as long as normal...wait for the stripper with pimples on her butt to finish her set....and then place one of the dollars in your teeth when the next stripper appears. Let go of the cash only when you can't stand your brainpan being bounced by the boobies any longer. Then smile big and remember to say thank you. Repeat the trick over and over...taking a break only when the gal with pimples on her butt comes back around. Other possible uses for a buck or two include playing Crazy, by Seal, on the jukebox. It has been my experience that all strippers love that song and I believe strongly that a happy stripper is a motivated stripper. You might also save a buck or two for the bouncer. They rarely get tipped by anyone so the cheap gesture might prevent him from punching your teeth down your throat when you do that thing you know you're not supposed to do. Quote
The NES Advantage Posted August 15, 2005 Author Report Posted August 15, 2005 Hair on fire = my official new favorite posterThe pimple butt strippers are always creepy.I like the one's whose boobs look like to cantaloupes trying to pull away from one another like the opposite ends of magnets. But, I regress, those are usually the same girls with pimples on their butts! Quote
BlainThePain Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 If I were putting money on this it would be for Bramlet. He has the stronger and more accurate arm. Pocket presence will come with time. Either way, if we don't resign Kitna, I think we will burn a 3rd or a 4th round pick on a QB. Neither one of them looked good enough to backup Palmer. I think Bramlet could develop into a good QB (though he hasn't come close yet), and I think Krenzel has developed about as much as he will. Quote

ackley1 Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 i think krenzal will win the job but i'm rooting for bramlet. i still hate krenzal for what he did to my wolverines! Quote
Ickey44 Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 It wasn't so much Krenzel as it was the rest of the Buckeye's, but I know how you feel. But after watching him play for the Bears last year, I'd rather have Ryan Leaf as a 3rd stringer than Krenzel. Quote

Kazkal Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 your bound to have 1 or 2 big plays if youra starter but if yer bad ones still our number the good ones 10-1 you have a problem Quote
