BlackJesus Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 BJ post game random observationsOk so I saw the game today..... I realize it is just one Pre season game and it is hard to make sound observations.... but nevertheless, here are my random thoughts from Watching the Game.--> Where do we buy those Shirts Marvin was wearing I want one?--> Long Ball on the first Pass, What the f**k? We have a top 3 OL in the game running the ball.... feed the rock in the begining to loosen the jitters. Brat must have hit happy hour before the game.--> Ok I officially recognize Saftey as the weakest position on the field.... and realize that Madieu might be the teams MVP.... If I have to watch Keanu Reeves suck ass start one more game.... I will run a bath, put on some Micheal Bolton, slouch down in under the tub water, and go to sleep--> Odell Thurman is a f**king stud, and a tackling machine.... We finally have our Ray Lewis, minus the double murder count--> Robert Geathers has great speed off the edge, can't wait to see him lead the team in sacks--> Stacy Andrews looked real good.... You know Marvin must have confidence in the guy, to let him protect our franchise (Palmer) in only his 10th game ever. The team now has leverage on Willie in negotiations.--> The starting running game is f**king dominant.... Rudi was shredding up the middle at will--> Jeremi Johnson looked lighter and more nimble... had a few good blocks--> Carter Worley Blows Ass, get better Shayne--> I love the new Ben Gals outfits... now to get new Girls--> I loved watching Odell drop back in coverage like a damn SS.... I actually think he is the teams best SS as well--> Chad should not dictate when he wants the ball.... he still needs to mature when it comes to "me look I'm open"--> Perry is a great recieving weapon... and the thought of him and Rudi being signed for the next 4 years.... gives me a sticky residue in my boxers... (smells fingers)--> Bryan Robinson looked good and stout, and to me Langston outplayed Thornton. I also noticed that Langston usually drew double teams, but Thronton never did. I have always said Thronton is soft up the middle, and while all the other DL had moments.... he didn't to me--> The commentator with Munoz during the first half sucks... he called out the wrong name over 10 times --> Odell has mad hops.... but stay on your feet, we don't need the Levar leap bro--> Good job on not having mnay penalties in the 1st halfDURING MOP UP TIME--> Greg Scott to me looked good albeit against the backups--> Shaun Smith also has nice size and showed the ability to penetrate (2nd team)--> Broussard def had a touchdown... Refs never give us the breaks --> Broussard should never return a punt again.... run bitch stop dancing--> Bramlet and Krenzel both looked bad... Kitna is very vital to the team and should be retained after this year at any cost. --> The Bengals D going back to last year does not do well against Mobile QB's.... I think our team speed works against us here, because they over pursue and lose position--> Quincy Wilson looked adequate and to me I think should be the 3rd RB. Perry showed that he is def the 3rd down back and is a souped up much better version of Watson. Thus we need a backup for Rudi not for Perry. Quincy is a Rudi clone... albeit not as good. If Rudi got knicked up, Quincy could still carry Rudis role as a between the tackle back, Watson is now expendable to me.--> I don't care that we lost.... Pre season wins mean nothing... there were some bright spots.... but a lot of work to still do on the trip to Detroit Quote
rizzy Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 You liked those shirts? I think they look like crap. Quote

DontPushMe Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Looks like Rudi is trying to steal CDs superbowl ring Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 "Odell Thurman is a f**king stud, and a tackling machine.... We finally have our Ray Lewis, minus the double murder count"Couldn't agree more. He missed a few tackles on runs up the middle, but I can see him being even better than Takeo ever was."Stacy Andrews looked real good.... You know Marvin must have confidence in the guy, to let him protect our franchise (Palmer) in only his 10th game ever."I am shocked at how well Stacy did. Pretty awesome for a guy with a girls name "The starting running game is f**king dominant.... Rudi was shredding up the middle at will"I'll agree here as well. Plus, I was excited to see "Two-Carry" Perry turn into "Two-Step" Perry and make some exciting moves out there. Our running game will be, in the words of the Guiness Guys "BRILLIANT" with Rudi and Chris toting the rock."Carter Worley Blows Ass, get better Shayne"He did have some damn nice kickoffs though. THere's no way in hell he beats Golden Graham out of the field goal job, but could he find his way on the squad for kickoff duties?"I love the new Ben Gals outfits... now to get new Girls"I'll partly agree here. Some of the girls could be replaced, but others are hot, damned hot! For the first time ever, I did enjoy looking at the stupid B logo. Maybe it was because it was located in cleavage, I don't know. Seriously, I liked the Flintstones cheerleader outfits last year, but these make so much more sense for the Ben-gals."Quincy Wilson looked adequate and to me I think should be the 3rd RB. Perry showed that he is def the 3rd down back and is a souped up much better version of Watson. Thus we need a backup for Rudi not for Perry. Quincy is a Rudi clone... albeit not as good. I love Watson, but Quincy could play a whole game, I don't think Watson could. Quote
joshh967 Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 --> Broussard should never return a punt again.... run bitch stop dancingI was actually at the game, it was funny because as soon as he caught it and started dancing...i think everyone in the stands started shouting go. It reminded me of watching a pee wee football game and the parents shouting at their boy to run after he caught a pass. Very funny sh*t--> Perry is a great recieving weapon... and the thought of him and Rudi being signed for the next 4 years.... gives me a sticky residue in my boxers... (smells fingers)also funny as sh*t Quote

I love Watson, but Quincy could play a whole game, I don't think Watson could. Y'all best bite your forked tongues about Watson. Perry's running style exposes him to greater risk of injury. All the pretty little jumps, skips, and spins may look like the best thing since Steve Broussard but the distances close awfully fast on Sundays. It would still be foolish to roll the dice w/ Rudi, Perry, and Wilson. Not if the team really wants to be poised for a playoff bid come late in the year. Wilson did show better running strength between the tackles than Perry and much better receiving presence than Rudi. But the reality is there's little to no risk in putting Wilson back on the practice squad. But the greatest factor in the RB spots is gonna proly be cap. Cut Watson and keep Wilson and it saves about $400k. There's a few RFAs who are on the bubble this year because of the cap difference between them and more or less minimum salaried rooks. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Yes, Perry might be hurt, but so might Rudi. If Rudi and Perry both go down, Watson is not the type of back who can play a whole game start to finish. He's a change of pace back. Quincy, on the other hand is a bruiser in the mold of Rudi. Quote

Watson did pretty well filling in for an injured Stephen Davis in Washington for (I think) 4 games a few years back, I would tend to go with the veteran instead of a young back that looked ok against 2nd and 3rd teamers. We have a top 3 OL in the game running the ball.... feed the rock in the begining to loosen the jitters. Brat must have hit happy hour before the game. Munoz loved the play call but not the play itself. As for me I'm tired of it. Palmer is a far better QB when he doesn't concentrate so much on Chad, and amazingly enough Chad is a far better wideout when the ball is being spread around to other weapons. So please stop the two-man pitch and catch game. Run the offense. That said, I can't agree about the shirt Marvin was wearing. It was fugly. Quote
Ickey44 Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 That said, I can't agree about the shirt Marvin was wearing. It was fugly. For once, I agree with you. I can't believe they wore those in public. Quote
BlackJesus Posted August 14, 2005 Author Report Posted August 14, 2005 the old bengals would throw deep on the 1st play and use gimmicks to beat opponents. The New Bengals have a top 3 Running game in the league and can dominate the line of scrimmage. There is nothing more demoralizing to a defense that to have a team take the first drive and run 14 plays hammering the ball right down the throat for a score. It puts the defense behind the ball for the entire game. Quit the funny stuff..... Let Rudi get behind Eric pulling and plow some chess pieces over. Quote

Stripes Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 BJ, ( don't you love being called that?), good posting once again, and I agree with everything. I want one of Marvin's shirts too. Quote
BlackJesus Posted August 15, 2005 Author Report Posted August 15, 2005 Thanks touchdown.... those shirts are "tight like prom night" Quote
BengalByTheBay Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Oh yeah....I also loved the "What a contrast to the egotystical nut Terrell Owens" in reference to Corey Dillon Randy Cross is a freaking buffoon. You just gotta love revisionist history like that. "He only wanted to win." Please...he only wanted to get a ring by going to a complete team. What player in the NFL wouldn't want to jump straight to the odd-on favorite to win a SuperBowl??? Why is that all the sudden some kind of paragon of team player virtue? Randy Cross sucks nad! Quote
