AMC Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 A NFL source said Saturday morning that the Bengals have reached a four-year deal with fourth-rounder Eric Ghiaciuc, leaving first-rounder David Pollack and second-rounder Odell Thurman as the only holdouts. Ghiaciuc, one of the centers of the fuure from Central Michigan, is expected at the Saturday night practice. Quote

Come on Bengals be proactive!!!!!Instead of waiting for slots to fill, create a darn slot yourself!!!!!!!!!! That goes for the agents too.....Grow a set! Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 The chips are starting ot fall, I hope there in there by next week. Quote
AMC Posted July 30, 2005 Author Report Posted July 30, 2005 Ghiaciuc has the coolest hair ever.... Quote
HairOnFire Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 I've got mixed feelings on this one. I actually hope they bust O'Dells nut a little bit and get the longer contract. Quote
BengalPappaw Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 IMO The key to the success of the O Line AND the Bengals is when Ghiaciuc is able to replace Braham. Quote

Reading between the lines on bengals.com, specifically one of his agent's "no comment" response to whether Odell would go for a five-year deal if the bengals upped the signing bonus...well, there ya go. Longer = more coin. With the deals above and below him 4-year gigs, the same slot last year a 4-year gig, and the nearest 5 year deal one with a voidable 5th year (which the bengals won't do in the 2nd), I don't see Thurman giving in.I remain optomistic that things will get wrapped up quickly. However, if this turns out to be a "classic bengals" production (i.e one in which they spend the next 6 weeks refusing to budge and then give him everything he wants the day before the season starts) I do admit that I will be annoyed. Sounds like the Bengals are trying to weasel one in here....They are ignoring the slot among 4-year contracts....hmmmmm Quote
Spain Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 Bengal Papaw dont even talk about richie going down. (please) However you must remeber that Palmer should be making the line calls! If he is not we are f**ked because he probably cant do it. Thats what makes manning great. Quote
