AMC Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Anyone watch the video interviews bengals.com put out today?I have learned Chris Henry is not an intelligent individual and the guy doing the interviews needs to learn how to interview people. Wow, Chris Henry is either really reserved or not all that bright....as long as he has football intelligence I'm happy...And Chris Perry seemed a little, I don't know, like he didn't want to be there....I like Hobson but his interview style is not the best....Chad was being Chad (Rosenhaus has been in his ear big time....Curnette asked him about a holdout next year and he pretty much said he was going to give it serious consideration, that's as nice as I can put it)....and I thought Kim Herring seemed rather intelligent as well...And I had to laugh when Graham was talking about reading and taking naps all the time....training camp for kickers = ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz..... Quote
rizzy Posted July 29, 2005 Author Report Posted July 29, 2005 Yeah I was really suprised with Kim Herring.Nate Webster just seems like he should be off makin a rap video or something and should not be at a nfl training camp. Quote
joshh967 Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Im going to guess Chris henry is just reserved. Then again i am his biggest fan that never saw him play. I dont think he is the most bright individual but he just keeps to himself when hes off the field Quote
gobengals19 Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 I watched Hobson's previous video interview with Chris Henry and the kid was REALLY reserved. He did not look comfortable at all in front of the camera - very humble, yes sir, no sir, etc. I wouldnt read too much into at this point. I think James said the say during the MiniCamp, that he didnt talk much on the field as well. Of course James is probably used to CJ.... On a side note, Hobson is a horrible interviewer so that certainly doesnt help much. He should stick to the article writing and hire some hot chick to do the interviews. Quote
Kazkal Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 He's just quiet nothing wrong with that I'm really quiet besides to really close friends then i cant shut up Quote
Dimster28 Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 do anybody know where i can send a email to file a complaint. i would love to know what interviews said, but i am deaf so what happens to transcripts that they always have that comes with the videos?? Quote

Hey dimster, I would send an e-mail with the request to Hobson himself, and ask him to forward it on. No reason they cannot have a transcript link with those... Quote

Dimster, email Hobson and let him know you are deaf and a huge fan and would love to be able to read the transcripts. He'll take care of you. I've met the man, and he's a very nice guy. Quote
DesperateDerelict Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Wow, Chris Henry is either really reserved or not all that bright.... He scored a 9 on the Wonderlic - my 10 year old would easily double that. He is not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, and I was surprised Marvin picked him - he prefers intelligent players. Quote

He is not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, and I was surprised Marvin picked him - he prefers intelligent players. At WR, you don't really need an Einstein.Relevant questions for WR:1. Will he run where he is told?2. Will he catch the ball when gets where he is told to run?3. Is he fast enough to run more after catching it without being easily caught?4. Will he block someone with some enthusiasm when not running the ball?If the answer to each of those is "yes", you are good to go at that spot. It's not like he has to be calling out formations etc. or figuring out line blocking schemes... Quote
Ickey44 Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Yeah, but you like to have someone who's a quick thinker and can adjust when things don't go as planned. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Yeah, but you like to have someone who's a quick thinker and can adjust when things don't go as planned. What was Chad's uselesslick? Quote
Kazkal Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 well chads not the brightest apple on the tree but hes one hell of a WR Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 well chads not the brightest apple on the tree but hes one hell of a WR Exactly my point. Quote
The Big Orange Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 I'm not sure how intelligent Chris Henry is, but I think he's smart enough not to say much if he hasn't much to say...and what can the guy say...he hasn't done anything yet except come to voluntaries, sign a 5 year contract, impress the hell out of his teamates and coaches, and kept his nose clean.I'd take those kind of smarts over the wonderlic anyday...to me he is a Chad Johnson clone. When I was at minicamp i told my wife that if he and Chad kept there helmets on and switched jerseys no one could tell the difference except the show boating. Quote
jditty47 Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 i liked the rap music that was being blasted over the first minute of the perry interview. that was awesome. Quote
shatan Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 So what did you bring with you to training camp Mr. fill in the blank.over and over. Those interviews were the worst interviews i've ever heard, whut up hobson? he doesn't do that bad normally, still not great. his articles are much better. As far as henry goes, he is very shy in front of the camera, but certainly doesn't seem very "edjumacated" but at WR it's more about speed, hands and reaction. if we had a dim QB or play caller then i would be worried. membengal Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 Yeah, but you like to have someone who's a quick thinker and can adjust when things don't go as planned. As long as he can form this thought:"Uh oh, plays breaking down, I better get open"I am thinking any improvisation will be within Henry's ability. Quote
HairOnFire Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 I just watched a couple of the clips and I have no idea what some of you are talking about in regards to Henry. Some people have accused me of being overly critical of dumb people, but Henry seemed fine to me. Couldn't hear most of the Chris Perry inteview due to background noise and overall poor quality, and I gave up altogether after the Nate Webster video kept breaking up. Yeah, I know...old farts and computers. Quote
Sox Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 Henry didn't seem stupid to me,he seemed to be shy and uncomfortable in front of the camera.I had no idea that he was a Vulcan. Quote
andybren Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 Henry seems fine to me. Maybe a little simple, but Hobson's the one who sounds like an idiot. How many years of interviews does a man have to do before he can formulate a question? But from what I've heard about ML's pre-draft meetings with the Henry, it sounds like he's matured since his 'personality issues' occurred. Or at least come to realize the impact of acting that way on the football field. Nothing like having a million football fans criticizing your temper tantrums to show you a little humility.Interesting that they would interview Craig Krenzel... Quote
rizzy Posted July 30, 2005 Author Report Posted July 30, 2005 I am sure the only reason they interviewed him is because there are a lot of bengals fans that are ohio state fans. Quote
AMC Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 I am sure the only reason they interviewed him is because there are a lot of bengals fans that are ohio state fans. He may be the Bengals back-up next year....if they don't resign Kitna.... Quote
andybren Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 I am sure the only reason they interviewed him is because there are a lot of bengals fans that are ohio state fans. Quite obviously the only reason he was even signed to the team was because there are a lot of Bengals fans that are Ohio State fans. I just think it's absurd, in this day of mass media sophistication, to take it to the level where he's one of only a dozen or so players from the team being interviewed. I doubt that any other team even bothers mentioning that their #4 QB showed up for training camp, much less interview him on their website. It's bush league. And even if they are grooming him to be the backup the future (a phrase that is too ludicrous to be printed anywhere else) his interview doesn't belong alongside Chad Johnson's or Chris Henry's. What's next the 3-part Brad St. Louis expose? Quote
