tom brady underrated? i think half the nfl analysts would blow him if given the opportunity. he's always mentioned in the "best qb in the nfl" talks.

vick is the most dangerous player in the league, hands down. there is not one player in the league that demands more attention during the week leading up to the game than vick. he ain't a great passer, but it's his POTENTIAL to be dangerous that keeps defenses on their toes, altering their schemes to accomodate his skizills. he ain't overrated.

bulger and green are two of the most accurate qb's in the league. the only reason the chiefs can run that system with s**tty wr's is because green throws it right where he wants it every time. honestly, green and bulger are the two most accurate qb's in the league, in my opinion. and pay-a-ton.

1. Ray Lewis - He's on the downslide, he was great, now he's above average and talked about like he's still great.

2. Tom Brady - PLEASE, he's just one member of the team, and it's the coaching that is winning for them, not any one player, not even Brady. Someone said he was underated but he's hailed as a hero and the reason the Pats are a "dynasty" because they have 3 titles in the past decade. A dynasty is a decade of winning, not a few years.

3. Joe Horn - He THINKS he is on the same level as Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, and Marvin Harrison, but he's not. People still talk about him like he is.

4. Hines Ward - He's a GOOD receiver, but he only had 1000 yards and 4 TDs last season. People talk like he's as good as Chad. Well, he isn't, and that will become apparent this season when he sees double coverage and can't do squat.

5. Brett Favre - He WAS the best at what he did, but his coaches should have replaced him 3 years ago. He's not the same guy he was.

1. James Hall - The guy had 48 tackles and 11.5 sacks for Detroit last year. How many of you even recognize his name?

2. Troy Palamalu - Borderline underated, but this guy singlehandedly took a game away from us last year, and plays better than any 2nd year player should.

3. Shane Lechler - The Oakland punter had naerly 1 in every 3 punts end up inside the 20, and averaged 46.7 yards per punt. If only his special teams guys could keep the net return lower than almost 12 yards!

4. Jerome Bettis. He's old, he shouldn't be doing what he does, but he can't be stopped at the goal line.

5.. Tim Rattay. Hey, when everyone thinks you are the worst QB to every play in the NFL you must be underated right? Ok, maybe not.

Not neccessarily...I myself don't think he is underrated, but I understand why others may think so. The massive "overrated" barrage he gets from all directions is the very reason he may be underrated. If he is a good QB, and even warranting half the recognition he gets, then it's possible that the word underrated is fitting, but only because so many people say he is the opposite.

Defense Over - Warren Sapp

Defense Under - Mike Peterson (I'd vote for Madieu Williams if I could)

By the way, it's rough to call people like Favre overrated. I think that aging HOFers are considered "past their prime," not overrated. You would call the Big Red Machine overrated now just because all the players are too old to beat the Devil Rays, would you? OK, maybe they could still beat the Rays...
