HairOnFire
Huge Bengal love being expressed on ESPN Radio right now. The Huddle Show with John Clayton and Sean Salisburysteak. Nothing new to report right now, but Landon Johnson is supposed to be on in a little bit. Hopefully I'll be able to catch it but I'm at work so...... membengal
Huge Bengal love being expressed on ESPN Radio right now. The Huddle Show with John Clayton and Sean Salisburysteak. Nothing new to report right now, but Landon Johnson is supposed to be on in a little bit. Hopefully I'll be able to catch it but I'm at work so......Dammit, beat me to it hair. Driving around this afternoon, caught the initial love-in and then later Landon's interview. Pretty much, when Salisbury AND Clayton started in with the praises, I damn near drove into a telephone poll. Salisbury has given the Bengals some credit for a year or two, but this just is the capper to those Bengals notices Clayton has been giving without the snide remarks all summer. They were pretty impressed with what ML has done overall, and kept talking about how the culture had changed inside and outside the lockerroom, something we all know but was nice to hear again anyway. The offense and Palmer got props, the re-signing of Rudi got huge props, and they correctly noted that the D has to get better against the run. They figured the Bengals have as good a chance at 10+ wins and the playoffs as the Steelers and Ratbirds. The Johnson interview was nothing earth-shattering, but you can clearly hear ML's continuing influence in terms of the short and long term goals as Landon parroted back (fast start)(simpler scheme) (do your job) (stop the run) just like you would hope he would. Said the playoffs are the clear goal.Gotta tell you, after years and years of listening to abuse (well deserved mostly) heaped on the team, still cannot get enough of the good stuff when it comes up. Who?
It's good that they are giving the Bengals some credit finally.. I do hate Salisbury, and even all of ESPN for that matter. Anyways, I thought Landon Johnson played good last year from what I saw, and Lewis is already slating Thurman above him.

Thurman is a natural middle backer, and Johnson's home is going to be on the outside someday, in Brian Simmons' spot, I believe. That could all change if Thurman drags his feet signing his contract and Johnson's shoulder gets cleared from the get-go in camp.
Who?
Thurman was a first round talent so I can see why they want to start him already, I know he had some issues that made him drop but I thought he was going to be picked at the top of the second round. Will the lineup be Johnson, Thurman, and Simmons? Or how is it looking this year?
Who?
Sorry about that, I forgot that Pollack is going to be an outside linebacker, I can see what the lineup will look like now.
HairOnFire
Dammit, beat me to it hair. Driving around this afternoon, caught the initial love-in and then later Landon's interview. I just knew I was going to miss the interview with Landon. Just had a bad feeling about it. I wasn't expecting anything earth shattering from a player that young but I haven't heard him interviewed before and I was looking forward to it. But after the ten minute opener where the talking heads just gushed about the Bengals they moved to updates about TO, Bruschi, a gab fest with Peter King, and before I knew it I was suddenly knee deep in aligators and pulled away from my office radio. You know, actually being forced to work at work sorta sucks.

Worst for me is I cannot pull in 1360 at work on the internet now, so no Bengals Fridays/Mondays before and after games. That's going to kill me.Did Peter King talk about the Bengals with them, or was it all other NFL stuff? I will know the off-season/pre-season buzz has reached epic levels when King says something nice on a consistent basis about the club.
