redsbengalsbucks Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 I'd love to see it 8-10 times this season, everyone needs to remember that TJ was in the same place last year that Washington is in this year. Let's all hope for another breakout year, he is due to live up to his potential Quote

Let's all hope for another breakout year, he is due to live up to his potential 100% WRONG!!!!!TJ was not in this place, TJ was returning from a season ending injury, and Warrick is in a position more like TJ was. Prior to the injury, TJ was behind Chad Johnson, Michael Westbrook, Peter Warrick, and Ron Dugans on the depth chart in 2002. He had a lot of fumbles on returns, but then again NOBODY could hold on to the ball returning kicks because our coaching sucked and they were afraid they were going to be killed and looked downfield instead of watching the ball.Washington just plain hasn't gotten it done. He had every opportunity to beat TJ out last year, but didn't put enough heart into it or enough study time. Warrick can be compared to TJ from last year. Can he too come back from a season ending injury and play better than ever? PS: The epileptic (squirrel) is the dumbest thing I've ever seen on the football field since John Madden got his telestrator! Quote
IckeyShuffle Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 yes. score 9-11 TD's p/ year, then I'll be open to ridiculous first down receptions. Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 I don't care who has the breakout year Henry or Washington, but I think both will be better than Warrick has or will ever be. PW is to slow and to small for the NFL, this was ok when we did not have better talent behind him. Now we do!! Quote

I was 100% behind TJ last year. "The Next Big Thing" referred to TJ Houshmanzadeh's breakout year as I predicted WAY back at the beginning of preseason last year. Washington is in a totally different place. TJ worked hard to prove he was worth the year off with injury. Washington thinks he is owed a bigger piece of the action. Quote
CantStop85 Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 I like watching the squirrel dance just as much I like watching most any other touchdown celebration. As long as he's celebrating a touchdown, I don't care what he does unless he gets a penalty. Quote
rob_justdmb Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 Did I just honestly read that PW is to (sic) slow for the NFL? Unless you've been out there clocking him, you can't say that. He certainly wasn't to (sic) slow in 2003. KW can go in my opinion. ok, so you caught a pass on 3rd and 3. congrats. run 15 yards and give a first down signal with your leg, instead of hustling back to the huddle. really neat. You also need to catch more than 40 balls to merit your own 30 second TD dance where you prance around like a fairy. If he read the playbook as much as he practiced the nuances of his dance, maybe he would've gotten in the game the first 7 weeks. If Herschell Walker couldn't pull off ballet, neither can KW. Quote
junglefever Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 I don't care who has the breakout year Henry or Washington, but I think both will be better than Warrick has or will ever be. PW is to slow and to small for the NFL, this was ok when we did not have better talent behind him. Now we do!! IMO, Warrick was our best receiver two years ago- he was clutch on 3rd downs and had two huge plays against the Chiefs when it really mattered. I think he will complement Chad and TJ better in this offense than Washington or Henry because he is an effective slot receiver. Henry has potential, but lets not forget how great Warrick was for us two years ago. Quote

He was a victim of not being able to find his niche and get into a groove because of the quarterback dilemma. Look what happened when Kitna settled into a role. Quote
Brownflushitdown Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 Warrick will be our number 2 reciever by the end of the season. BET!!! TJ is good but out performed himself last year which I hope he does again this year but don't count on it. Quote
HairOnFire Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 Back on topic, no, I'm not a fan of the pop-locking. It bugs me. But having said that I'll add that it doesn't bug me very much, and doesn't matter a bit when the issue of keeping Washington is debated. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 Yes it (the Squirrel) is funny and I don't care, it makes me laugh because it's so damn stupid. And JBengals what's up with the over-sized signature? A bit much don't ya think? Are people on this board afraid people equate penis size with signature banner size or something? Quote

TJ is good but out performed himself last year which I hope he does again this year but don't count on it. TJ is a more cerebral receiver and is more in touch with the system he is playing in than Pdub. Pdub had his chances, and in his 5 years, his best season didn't even net 1000 yards. The best he did was 819 yards in 2003. Prior to that, he averaged just over 620 yards and ALMOST 4 touchdowns per season. Hell, on average for all of their seasons, TJ has been as productive as Pdub on average, AND he did that not as the #2 receiver or #1 receiver until last year when he cracked #2.Pdub is a bust. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 A reciever is only as good as the QB is that's trying to get him the ball. Let's not write off Pdub untill we can see what he does with a solid QB running the show. Personally, I think by the end of the season(if healthy, which is a big if) he'll be the #2 depending on his leg and knee. Quote
Kazkal Posted July 22, 2005 Author Report Posted July 22, 2005 don't hate the squirrel it's awesome Quote
HairOnFire Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 I think anyone who likes the squirrel must be a fag. Call me. Quote
