skyline
I just noticed that he's in the starting lineup today. 2 for 2 so far (currently in the 4th).Is this his first game back, or have I just not been paying attention?
Brownflushitdown
he came to the park in the middle of the game last night
Kirkendall
He came back during last night's game. I mean, he reunited with his mates while in the later innings 7th or so... he didn't play though.

CBin2k7
Yeah Kearns says he has no ill-will to the team and he lost 10 pounds while down at Louisville, he looks to be swinging the bat a lot better now than he was before he went downNTR: Just when you think Milton is turning the corner, the 4th inning sure kicked his butt. Kirkendall
Yea, Milton pretty much is a 4th-5th inning complete disaster pitcher.Anyone think Kearns is with the Reds to showcase his talent for potential trade partners? I mean, what's exactly changed since O'Brien sent him down to "get more at bats"? Maybe Kearns is getting back to the team so he can take over when Dunn (and gone) is traded. bengal4life
I think you got a good point Kirkendall about possibly taking dunn's position. So is Dunn definitely getting tradded or is it still not finalized?

AMC
heard on CNNSI truth and rumors that people are talking about wanting Kearns in a trade but there are doubts about his attitude. Also says O'Brien wants too much for Dunn...And what about Griffey, I don't think he gets moved but...Seems like Randa trade talks have cooled...Line-up could look like thisCF Ryan FreelSS Lopez1B CaseyLF DunnRF Pena2B AuriliaC LaRue/Valentin3B Encarnacion
jditty47
no way our lineup looks like that.
AMC
no way our lineup looks like that. I hope not! But with O'Brien in charge!
CBin2k7
The Reds will keep Kearns he is alot less expensive than Dunn. If O'brien becomes sensible he could easily trade Dunn, Randa, and maybe even Griffey/CaseyI will go on record as saying if the Reds don't dump salary and make trades, O'Brien will not have a job next year
AMC
I do believe that Dunn will be gone because the Reds will try to get something for him before he needs a new contract, but sources are saying O'Brien is asking too much. That is fine, as the deadline nears the price will come down a bit. If you keep Pena, Encarnacion, Kearns, Lopez intact this team will be extremely young. Whomever brings the best pitching in a deal whether that be Dunn or whomever they need to do it. Hate to see Griffey go, but............. BengalBevis
Man trade GRIFF when it looks like he will make through a season
Stripes
I think the outfield will stay exactly the same. Randa is gone, and I have a feeling that's about all we're going to see this year. There aren't any true pitchers out there for us to go for that we can afford, at least none that are worth the loss of Dunn, Griffey, or Kearns. Of all the outfielders I'd miss the least, I am sad to say it's Pena. He always hits it hard, but his plate discipline is atrocious. He does have, by far, the coolest name in baseball.I say they continue to work within the farm teams to find worthy pitching. Harang and Claussen appear to be worth starting next year without question, and Hudson may be headed that direction as well. Milton can only improve, and I think he will by next season. Ortiz has got to go if anyone will take him.
Kirkendall
I still think we need to dump one outfielder because honestly, we have four starters and three positions. It's too much of a bottleneck, and each player has shown a knack to need consistent at bats. But more and more O'Brien talks about it, it looks like Dunn and Wily Mo are staying put -- if that's the truth, then we should sign Dunn to a long-term deal now and avoid arbitration. We also need to look at O'Brien's drafts. From my understanding, he's picked up 7 of the top 25 pitching prosects in the drafts.... so maybe we (well, mostly I) should just wait and see with O'brien. I totally disagree with firing him after one season though. Would we have done that with Marvin? Baseball is a different beast, there's no salary cap for instant upgrading... god. bengalindian
I saw somewhere, maybe ESPN.com or Foxsports, that Odalis Perez was a possible candidate for being traded to the Reds, but it did not mention any possible deals. It was a list of all the teams and players they were going after....Dunn was on a bunch of lists, and Casey was on the Mets" list.
