Starting the Controversy

Perry was drafted to compete and beat Rudi for the starting job. If Perry gets and stays healthy he is by far the more skilled runner, a finesse runner. Where Rudi holds an advantage is toughness and north/south running ability. Personally i think Rudi better fits our division yet Perry fits the direction they want our offense moving in. Perry was drafted with the thought "Hey lets use running formations and playaction to open up opposing defenses, if they bite throw to Chad if not Perry can make yards out of the backfield!"

Of course we're trying to justify a #1 pick Hair. It's #1 money, with #1 potential. And yes, we wouldn't be having this same conversation if he was a third, but that should be obvious. A first rounder has more expectations, and rightfully so. I don't think Marvin will ever tell you that he used a first round pick to provide depth  They get paid and drafted that high to make a difference
