cincyhokie Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 This was found on the enquirer forum.I have a hard time believing that it would be that easy to get 19,000 tickets without the Bengals front office helping.http://frontier.cincinnati.com/messageboar...p?TOPIC_ID=1817Either way, it's going to be a long ride home for the Steelers fans after we beat them at PBS this year. Irish Bengal Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 I find that hard to believe considering I heard there wasn't close to that number of tix for sale by time packages went on sale. Quote

cincyhokie Posted July 18, 2005 Author Report Posted July 18, 2005 Good points.I guess we'll know when/if there are 19,000 Vikings-Bengals tickets for sale on e-bay. Quote
gobengals19 Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 They said they were going to have 20K there last year and there wasnt even half of that. Of course they were still loud and obnoxious as hell but what do you expect. I was so pissed off last year because we should have won that game, we gave it away, Pittsburgh did not win it. I would like to see it less than 5K Squeeler fans this year. Of course, everyone of them will have that damn #7 jersey. The front office ought to hand out Orange Towels or something better for that game to offset those sissy yellow things that claim are "terrible".... Maybe Orange/Black Tiger Tails that make some kind of noise. Quote
bengal4life Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 I was reading some of those posts on the enquirer's website. Someone said that pitt bought 19000 tickets for the Bengal's games he thought it was including the Vikings game as well so hopefully they could only get their hands on 9500 tickets and not 19000 for the Bengal's vs. Squillers game Quote
Kirkendall Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 Who cares? They're buying tickets, putting $$$ into our team that'll beat them again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again....and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again.... IckeyShuffle Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 just took a check on ebay and there seem to be thousands of tickets on sale for the vikings game which was paired with the steelers game. one of the offers were for as much as 40 tickets in a block together. they also seemed to be in the 300 section/upper bowl which would have been the only seats left for the ticket packs because the 100/200 sections are sold out with season tickets. I suppose the best thing to happen is that enough of us have dead uncles leave us some cash so we can sell out the entire stadium with season ticket holders and create a waiting list for future season tickets. that will keep the jungle full of black and orange. vikings tickets on ebay Quote
HoosierCat Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 Excellent bit of research Ickey. Should have thought of that myself. So what's the capacity of PBS? 65K? So that's what, 46,000 Bengals fans vs. 19,000 Pukesburg punks? By day's end, we'll be wishing those numbers were reversed, just so more crying loser Stooler fans would be making their sorry way back home. Quote
cincyhokie Posted July 18, 2005 Author Report Posted July 18, 2005 Interesting. As long as the Steelers fans act like they know where they are. This isn't Heinz Field...and there are thousands of Bengals fans ready to take out 14 years of frustration on your sorry visiting a$$. Act cool. Quote
Kirkendall Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 Every Steelers fan I've come across has always been cool to me. Sure they rip on people, but so do we. It's all in good fun.. if it's more than that, then it's just not worth it IMHO -- it's f'ing sport. Quote

I've never been to a Bengals-Steelers game, but I've seen the Bills fans and the way they act. And you're right, it's just a sport. Quote
IckeyShuffle Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 in reality, there will not be a game on this year's schedule that won't be backed up with a sold out, unrelenting jungle crowd. no matter how many visiting fans come, an 8-0 home schedule like we had in 1988 will get us the opportunity to host a playoff game and how sweet would that be??? I went to both night games last year and would say the monday night game vs. denver was the most fun I've had at a Bengals game since the 1988 AFC championship game vs. Buffalo. If the boyz take care of business on the field, the opposing fans will be sitting on their hands watching Rudi and the o-line grind the clock out in the 4th quarter. all of this however makes me motivated to land some steelers tickets at PBS to do my part to shut them up. I go to 4-5 games p/year, so this one just made my list. who dey and let the jungle roar loudly. Quote
Irish Bengal Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 I find that 99% of steeler fans are idiots. It seems that when they come to PBS they always want to start fighting after a few Beers. Even when they win they show poor sportsmanship. i went to the game at Heinz field (will never buy the catsup again) last year and it seemed like every fan was a total a*s. I cheered for the bengals and never baited or tuanted any of the sqeeler fans and they still acted like total blockheads. No CLASS. Quote
Sox Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 It's bs.Nothing more than an internet rumor. They will NOT have 19,000 fans in the seats. The game was sold out before tickets were available to the public. Quote

I went to the Browns-Steelers playoff game in 2002, the fans there were total D-Bags but I wore my Willie Green jersey with pride. They can all go to hell for all I care, all of their so called "fans" left at half time anyways. Quote
Defender Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 I generally have found the Steelers fans to be on the same level as Michigan fans: Obnoxious and arrogant. They can dish it out when their team wins. But when they lose, it's excuses all around, "The refs cost us the game; We outplayed you on the field; You only won because all our good players were injured; etc..." Quote
redsfan2 Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 Guy wearing a Steelers jersey showed up at the Ravens game year before last, and promptly drank himself into a stupor .... a deeper one than Steeler fans usually are anyway. around 3rd qtr, he pukes all over himself and has to be helped out by his friends. In short, a typical ( prototypical ? ) fan. At least he wasn't throwing batteries at anyone tho Quote

Paul Brown Stadium is our HOUSE!!!! Not the Steelers. PBS is not Heinz Stadium. As fans, we should let management know that selling 19,000 tickets to the opposition is unacceptable, no matter who it is. 5,000 tickets is how many it should be. This is Mike Brown telling us, the fans, that this game would not be a sellout unless the Steeler fans buy 19,000 tickets. He is sending a message to us that he does not believe the this game can be sellout without serious help from the Steeler fans. PBS does not need a bunch of yellow snot rags being flung around in the air, there could be slimy objects flying off them. EWWW!!! Quote
