BengalszoneBilly
Two figures really stand out to me here. First: Kelly Washington [ 0 ] [0.00%] It's like nobody is expecting him to play at all.Second: Kevin Walter [ 1 ] [2.38%] I didn't know Kevin was a member here! Wassup Mr. Walter! derekshank
Why is everybody thinking that Carson is going to be so much better this year than he was last year?...largely because he was really pouring it on during the last games he had a QB rating of over 100 against some really good D's.If we take that same logic and look at the last 5 games of the season, TJ posted 494 yards to Chad's 364 and caught for more yards in every single game of the last 5.It is not inconceivable that TJ beats Chad out this year. If we look at Indy, most people would say that Marvin is their best receiver, but he didn't have the most yards. In fact, if Stokely would have had 34 more yards Marvin would have been 3rd.TJ has Chad's constant deep threat working for him, really consistent hand (fewer drops then Chad, both of them suck in YAC, along with being the best route runner on the team IMHO. Good points Big O, and yet, I find the only rational conclusions to your arguments is that Carson Palmer will not have as huge numbers as many of us expect. On the other hand, one thing is true... Carson is more comfortable, which means he will throw it to who is open, and not always force it into Chad. This means that it is possible for T.J., or whoever, to get more yards than Chad. TD's however, I still expect Chad to dominate.
CantStop85
Actually...if Peter Warrick is healthy, he could possibly have more TD catches than Chad. Remember, the red zone is where the Bengals missed P-dub the most last year.I can see TJ Houshmandzadeh maybe having more receptions than Chad, but not more yards. Remember, the red zone is where the Bengals missed P-dub the most last year.I can see TJ Houshmandzadeh maybe having more receptions than Chad, but not more yards. Warrick and Chad will probably have more TD's than TJ, but I agree TJ could have more receptions and could really have more yards. Even though TJ isn't a long ball threat he gets a ton in the 15 yard range.Warrick is as good as anyone in the red zone, YAC, and downfield blocker. It's gonna be wild to see Chad if he and Chris Henry play together on deep ball plays. He will light it up!
slf
if Warrick's health is 100%, he will win the #2 slot.He is an excellent route runner, tough in the red zone, his first move after a catch is among the quickest in the league and he finally learned to run downfield for decent YAC - instead of cross field No other receiver on the team is a bettter downfield blocker on running plays, which helps in the competition for #2 slot - and benefits Rudi when he gets to the secondary and Warrick is clearing the DB! If the peg is damaged beyond repair, so is his career.if he's healthy, he will have a great free agency after a great season

andybren
I think TJ and P-Dub will get approximately the same number of touches, but TJ's plays will be more possession oriented, while P-Dub's will allow for more YAC, so he'll get more yards.I suspect that Spain voted for Kevin Walter, but in his defense, he thought he was voting for best linebacker.
