In my estimation, the NFL has had both!

You beat me to it

I think we'll be able to play with anyone this year ...... including the Pats and the Colts. Whether they've slipped or not is beside the point.

I will say about the Pats in the post season ..... They are a different team. The small margin of victory is meaningless as well. Fact is they hang on and hang around till they get a break or the other guy slips up and then they take advantage of it. Beating them is like trying to throw a potato chip or chew 2 marshmallows .... looks easy till you try it B) .

Parity, not parody. ;) No biggie, a common malapropism...

Yes... I know the difference between Parody and Parity... But you'll note that I wrote that at about 8am, directly after finishing a 10 hour 3rd shift night. I hope you'll forgive my mental slip.

I would like to note though that Seymour is the only guy really holding out for more money. If I'm not mistaken, Bruschi is not holding out, he is just wondering if football is right for him since he had a stroke in the offseason.

They will also be without Ty Law's services, and I know Harrison isn't really happy about the kind of cash he is making... However, the point is that the Patriots are the league's best at working with the collective bargaining agreement. They would sign guys to long contracts, and now these guys are forced to look like jerks in order to get the money that they would deserve had they signed only 4 year deals.

The Pats won't give it to them, because they have plenty of young depth (especially at DT), and there are a lot of players who would be willing to take a little less money to win 3 out of 4 superbowls. The pats really have it working for them right now, let's just hope that the loss of Weis and Crennel brings them back to earth a little bit, and the PARITY in the NFL can resume as it should.

Then there's always parroty.

I'd like to check into whether or not there's some safe paint to use to paint an African grey in orange and black stripes then teach him to say:

"Bills fans, Steelers fans, Ratbirds fans, Pats fans...bawk...Bunch of rotten carpetbagging Yankee bastids....bawk....Who Dey gonna get you."

34-4 in the last two seasons... lose an aging CB .....Bruschi will hurt some but they still have a very good team.....maybe slip to 10-6 but still make playoffs.

Brady wont let them slip toooooooooooo far!

Brady is a good QB but he's not the one winning all those superbowls

Peter King attacked this in his mailbag King's response is the second paragraph.

BUT PLAYER A IS BETTER, ERIC. From Eric Parks of Charlotte, N.C.: "I am very tired of reading journalists saying Player A is better then Player B just because he won the Super Bowl. Yes, Brady has won three Super Bowls and he is a great quarterback. However, the simple fact is football is a team game. Brady has done nothing more then any other quarterback that happened to be on a great team. He's never lead the league in any major stat. Yes he has more wins, but again, that's because he has a great team. Brady is a very good QB, but he is also a very fortunate QB.''

Interesting points, Eric. But quarterback is a singular position in football, and maybe in all of team sports, because of how much influence he has in determining whether his team wins or loses. I've always thought of Phil Simms as a winner as much as he was a very good player, and the winner side of it counts for more than anything in my mind. That includes leadership, selflessness and what he does in the locker room. Brady is a gem at everything, including playing a masterful game.

Moreso, didn't Brady drive his offense down the field for the game's winning points at the end of the game?
