Definitely drunk.

Spain -

I have found many individuals who have learned English as their 2nd language speak / write it considerably better than many Americans. It's the idiomatic utilization that confuses them. Can you get down wit' dat?

Welcome Spain. I lived in Portugal for 8 years growing up...and Italy for 2...Africa for 3. We went to Spain a lot. A lot of good looking women riding little motorcycles as I remember...with a lot of attitude. Spain is like Portugals' big brother. We went every other year to a real fancy hotel in Barcelona.

Not sure how you found the Bengals, but welcome. Feel free to call Palmer Plamer anytime. People that give you grief we'll pray wake up Brown's fans...which is like living in the warm corner of hell.

So he can't just come on here...say what's on his mind...have fun...this all of a sudden turned into an exclussive school he has to jump through a bunch of hoops to be in...learn to punctuate?!?!? Have you been paying attention to the spelling that goes on here? Give me a break. In a perfect Nati you can come right off the boat and begin to love the orange and black. And feel free to use this as a place to practice your english! Your Bengals brothers and sisters will love you just the way you are. This is a fan forum not inclussion to some bloody club!

I've never used the spell check once cause this isn't a damn resume!

I actuallly think in two or three years we could(key word in the whole sentence guys, could) be better that manning. He's got a better arm, and he is more athletic, but right now Peyton is in some Zen Like state in the pocket. Mentally he is way ahead of everyone else, but if I think back to Manings first year I think that Carson's was more impressive

True, if you look at their first year as starters, I would agree that Carson was probably a bit more impressive, but he had a year to learn the system before he took a snap, and I think we can all agree that Palmer has twice the weapons that Manning had back then. The Colts were plain awful when the drafted Peyton.

I also agree that Palmer has more physical ability than Manning, but most QB's have more physical ability than Joe Montana, but there are very few Joe Montanas out there.

I think what we do have to be excited about though is not Palmer's physical ability, but his ability to stage comebacks, and stay calm in the pocket in his first year as a starter. That is almost as rare as Joe Montana!

Wait about 50 posts, but I've got a hunch you won't be welcoming Spain so much by then. The insults stemmed from many other reasons besides bad English.

Anyway, after deciphering the initial post, I think he's asking if Palmer is going to eventually surpass Anderson and Esiason...

It's going to take more than a couple of Pro Bowl seasons and probably a Super Bowl win to do that. The way Boomer came back to the Bengals at the twilight of his career was awesome. He's a cocky loudmouth, but Bengal fans can't help but love him!

I don't know if Palmer needs a superbowl win to surpass Anderson. I think he will get one, but Marino didn't need a superbowl win to be considered one of the best QB's in history.

(maybe he would be considered THE best if he actually won one, who knows), but Anderson never won one either. It's still way too early to tell, but I think Palmer can easily be considered the best Bengals QB. We've never really had a dominant QB in the way that the Hall of Fame requires, so it's not like he has to be the second coming of John Elway (though he very well might be... I hope, I hope).

Everyone is entitled and encouraged to express themselves here, even me. Very soon Spain's spamming the board with rambling, sometimes incoherent babble will become a near unbearable aggravation. Even to the most congenial of us.

Spain please make use of the spellcheck before posting. Proofreading or using an English dictionary is better than illegible posts. I have known you for 2 years. Even I have been annoyed with some of your banal rants and repetitive posting.

I was thinking about this post on the way home from work, and I felt compelled to respond.

I find threads like these increasingly annoying. Yes, CP had a good first year as a starter, and yes, we can have our optimism without caution for the first time in ages, but to take one year where he had 18 TDs to 18 INTs and proclaim that he will be better than Esiason or Anderson is ludicrous at best.

Kenny Anderson should be in the HoF, and was the prototypical QB for the WCO. No, his style of play wasn't always very exciting to watch, but he was an incredibly accurate, incredibly smart QB who is IMO the best Bengals QB ever.

Esiason has career numbers that stack up with or are better than those of many QBs who are already in the HoF, was one of the game's premier gunslingers in his prime, and arguably led the Bengals to their biggest success as a franchise.

I understand that lots of people are excited about Palmer's potential...I know that I am, especially after being a naysayer about his ability and being proven wrong. I think that Palmer will have a very good year and take us to the playoffs, but after one year as a starter I certainly don't think he will be better than two men who are synonymous with Bengals football.

maybe I am just crotchety, but something about this thread just set me off. I would rather wait until his career is over, after seeing the successes and failures that occur in a career, and say that he was the Best Bengals QB Ever then use his first year as a guideline for how I think things are going to be. But that's just me. And I'm bitter

That was his first season, look at the stats of any of todays great QB"s and about 50% of them had high INT.... I think reason people hold CP so high is because how he played the last few games.agaist 2 of the best defenses in todays NFL

Nah, you're right.

I think rather than proclaim he's gonna lead us to the Super Bowl (which he very well might) and have his Bust enshrined @ Canton, let's see his progression from last season to this season. No more bonehead INT's for TD's. More 4th qtr heroics and games like vs the Jets and Ravens part duex.

I'm not quite sure if I have expectations for Palmer.

Alls I know is that he should do exponentially better than last year, for one, his offense is still intact, and two, pieces are being added around him to make him better.

I think this season will be what Big Ben had in Pittsburgh, that is, Palmer won't NEED to do everything by himself, but he certainly has the ability to do so.

Our running game is still a strength, say what you want about Rudi, but he's a PERFECT AFCN RB. Tough and durable, and a team player.

Chris Perry should be the perfect compliment, 1-2 punch as well.

We also have two new WR's and the Moss-Like Chris Henry (or so I've been hearing).

This has the potential to be as balanced an offense as their is in this league, and particularly our division.

Nothing's changed, Palmer will still be fun to watch.
