UofLnMU
I've seen that he has been assigned #99, but I have heard from my brother-in-law, who watches the UGA forums like a hawk, that he wants a number in the 50's (a linebacker #). Anyone?
BDDFC
He will have to have a number in the 50's if he's listed as LB on the roster.
Kazkal
Bengals.com said 99 So he has the number of a end + a linebacker. He wanted his old college number but there was no way for him to get it in pro football innless we moved him to a safety

Kazkal
I coulden't find the page o_O((( Between draft day and now )))But i'm preatty sure 99 is for sure his number because 99 was already taken and they switched that guy so pollack could use it. jjakq27
http://forums.bengalszone.com/index.php?showtopic=5188This was a topic right after the draft a couple of weeks ago. The league allows LBs to use numbers in the 90's also.
oldschooler
Pollack said in a bengals.com article that if he is going to be a LB that he wants a number in the 50`s...
BengalPappaw
"99" will work out if the OLB experiment doesn't work -- Pollack can keep 99 and be the pass rushing DE. BUT -- with Pollack's attitude and aggressiveness, I can't see the experiment not working. Besides "99" makes him look even bigger -- and his arms will appear longer. I base this ridiculous statement based on my observation of Derrick Johnson when he wore Tommy Nobis' number "60" -- Johnson looked bigger -- and slower. Regardless of the number he will wears -- I believe that Pollack will make special plays. It is tougher waiting for football season to start than it was waiting for the draft --

oldschooler
i've read every article on bengals.com and never heard him say that.must have missed it =P In four years at Georgia, Pollack lined up at defensive tackle and end. He still had an end's number -- 99 -- and mentality when he arrived for the Bengals' rookie minicamp, two things he needs to change. ``I'd rather have a number in the 50s to look like a linebacker, because I am a linebacker now,'' he said. ``Yesterday we had to stand up, tell our position, the university you went to and your hometown. I stood up and went, 'David Pollack, defensive ... uh, linebacker, University of Georgia.' I had to catch myself.'' http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-b...ov=ap&type=lgns
