DesperateDerelict
Many of us Bengal’s fans have very high expectations for our team this season, a sentiment not always shared by the media of other NFL fans. Many of them feel that we are a player or two away from being a championship team. What would it take to change their minds? My question to y’all is: If you could pick one (or, if absolutely necessary, two) ACTIVE players from other NFL rosters and put them in stripes, which player would you choose? This player’s contributions and overall affect on the talent level of the team would be so profound that the Bengals would instantly become prohibitive favorites in the AFC. Can you name 1 or 2? Some potential suggestions:QB: Manning, Vick, Brady, etc.RB: Tomlinson, Alexander, Holmes, etc.WR: TO, Moss, Holt, etc.TE: Gates, Gonzalez, Heap, etc.OL: Pick oneDL: Peppers, Freeney, KGB, etc.LB: Lewis, Urlacher, Brooks, etc.DB: Reed, Harrison, Barber, Malloy, etc. There are alot that would help, but few that would make that huge an impact . . . C'mon, pick one!!!
Kirkendall
Great topic. My two (since one is no fun) are:Ed ReedGilbert BrownThose two would give us Super Bowl feva!! Cowbell? WOOOO!
WHO DEY AGAIN?
I'll go with Alexander and Peppers. I know we don't need Alexander but our Offense would be unstoppable. Reed would probably be a better pick though.

turningpoint
Peppers, reed.Chris jenkins. over Marcus Stroud... get out of here....The best DT in the elague is marcus Stroud...not to mention he's a hell of a lot younger.

You must be thinking of Buckner.Jenkins is younger than Stroud and he's a dominating DT...but he's coming off an injury year.

Shaun Rogers of Detroit is, IMHO, the best DT in the game right now. I'd take him and Ed Reed. No question about a MAJOR upgrade there. Other all-pro's selected multiple times include Jenkins, Gates, Freeney, and Polamula. DB or DL are included in EVERY selection (Hear us, Marvin?)Since the question really asks which players would give us instant credibility with the idiot media, I'm surprised noone went with the 'sexy' picks, like Peyton Manning and Ray Lewis . . . not as much of an upgrade, but a helluva lot of notoriety. Our cap number would be around $110M.
