DontPushMe
Yeah, it's assinine to say Wilkerson isn't a good player or a solid pro prospect. The torn patella is the reason he wasn't drafted. Maybe there's some confusion here between Wilkerson and Vince Carter. To an extent you are right, the torn patella was the reason he wasnt drafted yes. But, what you fail to understand is, even had he not had that injury, he still would of only been picked in the 5th or 6th round anyway, simply because he isnt very good. How can Adam Keift be a steal when nobody had heard of him, and he wasn't in any predraft mocks? A sleeper? Hopefully. A surprise - certainly! But a sleeper? This just further proves my point that people want to hear the big names, even if they arent good pro prospects. Just because he wasnt overhyped doesnt make him any less of a player. And to the posts above me, well done, i couldnt of done it better myself. TecmoFever
I'm still waiting for Don'tPushMe to turn this thread into an anti-Rudi discussion. The question is HOW.A proposal:Kieft and Ghiaciuc would be even bigger steals if they had a decent running back to run behind them. All of their pancake blocks will be in vain because Rudi will trip or not be able to see the hole that they have just created. plus he's so slow the guy who got pancaked will have enough time to get up and tackle him anyway That was a funny one, CT. And to DPM, I'm glad you liked our posts and you're right about people wanting to hear big names come draft day. It is understandable, though, because most fans have only the big names to go by and are frustrated when we pass up those big names. Of course, if people want big names so badly, why are they not complaining that we didn't draft Jason White? He did win the Heisman and all. The Big Orange
On draft day I was begging ML and crew to get a big name safety (like the one who went undrafted-shows how much I know) and when they didn't, I just didn't get it. But I also remember at the end of last year, or earlier this year sometime, when ML was talking to the press and he stated that defensive backs was the area where we were deepest at...so...I just have to believe that in his mind there is someone on board he was excited or at least very satisfied they could get it done, or, he knows something we don't about Jume 1st. With few exceptions marvin doesn't go after the big names, and after the year that Sapp, Bobby Taylor, and Troy Vincent had, we can all be grateful for that. Kazkal
Well I say let ghiaciuc and wilkerson fight for starting postion in the camps...After that move the other one to 2nd string center & see if he could make a future guard.

Honestly I'm feeling pretty good about the Bengals new additions to offensive line, and (IMHO!) feel that the competition for those positions will only go to improving the play of that line during the season. I mean there was a bit of room for improvement, don't you guys think?
Kazkal
Aye, though if eric has some skills on the line I woulden't wanna lose him even if wilkerson is better .....Has anyone else heard about losing levi jones next year sense we'd only be able to keep him or big willie?I'd hate to lose big willie but levi would be the better choice IMO for age though I hope we get to keep them both. JPW
After what our OL has gone through over the last two season, I would think that everybody would realize the importance of depth.Seems to me that Bengals Fans should be glad that we have Three new guys added to the OL competition. I was talking about Keift in that statement.2. Must be that 6th sense that CTBengalsFan was talking about Wilkerson, if he can come back from this injury, will make a good backup, because of versitility. He could backup Steinbach, Williams, and Braham/EG. I would certainly not want to have to rely on him as a long term starter though. You guys loved to hate on Bobbie Williams this year, but he in my opinion wasnt the weak spot on the o-line, it was the leftside, where Levi and Steinbach played worse then they did the year before. wookie
Jones and Steinbach were as banged up as the rest of the team last year, and it did translate into a rough season for them both. I do believe that they will both be back to top form this year, and Jones may be ready to earn himself a Pro Bowl spot....hopefully.Also, who knows anything about who's good or not yet. Some guys make the transition to the pros better than others and a 6th or 7th round pick can have a longer or more productive career than a 1st rounder who was a great college player but couldn't take that next step.It may be 3 years before we know if some of these guys are good or not. Also keep in mind that to make an NFL roster and be a solid backup you have to be good, so even if they don't start and make the Pro Bowl they can still be a valuable asset to the team. I'm very glad we tried to add some depth, especially after the rash of injuries last year.BTW...I've been gone for a while and only started posting regularly again after the draft. Big Orange...you're a weird dude.
