The_Next_Big_Thing
Ok, New England cut Keith Traylor. I'm happy with our guys up front, but what do you all think about pursuing a quality nose tackle?
IckeyShuffle
time and time again, Marvin indicates that he doesn't want a "big space-eater" just to take up room in the middle. he wants an active, athletic, beast who can run side to side and not just eat up blockers. He said Siragusa was that kind of tackle, a disruptive, penetrating force. I love the idea of tying up blockers up front and letting our now unbelievably fast and athletic linebackers make plays on the ball. But Marvin won't get a guy who is just big for big sake. If Traylor can move laterally and not just sumo his blocks standing still, he should be considered. With the Reds sucking so badly, it is already Bengals season and its obvious that Marvin has a plan. I couldn't be more stoked. :player:
HoosierCat
Aside from the ebb and flow of "camp fodder" FAs, I think the Bengals are about done adding to the roster for this year. Certainly the DT position is full up. If the June 1 cuts bring a good safety onto the market, I could see them taking a shot, or if Webster is a scratch they might go after a vet LB for depth. But barring injury I don't foresee any significant additions.
walshfan
they will not sign a 35 year old, on the decline...
HairOnFire
they will not sign a 35 year old, on the decline... But he'd be a perfect fit in the 3-4 the Bengals aren't switching to.
Whur CHad At?
He is not a bad player. Would prefer him over Robinson
walshfan
He is not a bad player. Would prefer him over Robinson And what do you base that on... That he USED to be a decent player.. He's 35 years old and is on the decline.. NE saw that and released him... Marvin would have done the same thing like with Hardy...... Critical Mass
Monster NT that eat space and are incredibly athletic are really rare. Siragusa was great but he could wear down with time. Still, Sam Adams (the other Baltimore tacke) has looked only average since Siragusa retired. Our run defense really sucked last year. Not sure an overweight DE that had two broken wrists two years ago will make a big difference. Wish we could have gotten Shaun Cody from USC. Critical Mass
For those of you 40 years old or so, remember Coy Bacon we had years ago. He was very helpful in strengthening our D line. He was so hard to move out of the middle.

He was so hard to move out of the middle. Coy Bacon was a DE on the right side... He was a sack artist.. He recorded 22 sacks in 76 and 5.5 in 77... he never played DT in the NFL...Get your facts straight bub.
