kingwilly
P-Dub is P-Dun...pretty sad.I had my doubts last season when it was his knee..now his leg/shin issue...and he can't hardly walk. If he can recover, then great, if not u gotta keep who can produce. To make a claim that they will keep K Walter because he is a special teams ace is wortless. Ron Dugans was our Special Teams ace and he now makes sure to say "Do you want fires with that?" The list of guys who will make it regardless:85 Chad Johnson WR 6-2 192 Oregon State 84 T.J. Houshmandzadeh WR 6-1 197 Oregon State The list of guys who will make it on basis of draft (barring sucking horribly):15 # Chris Henry WR 6-4 197 West Virginia - 87 Kelley Washington WR 6-3 220 Tennessee - knows system and should stickThe list of guys who will make it on basis of merit include:88 Cliff Russell WR 5-11 193 Utah 12 # Tab Perry WR 6-3 229 UCLA - can he tackle? Maybe a Safety!80 Peter Warrick WR 5-11 195 Florida State -INJURY CLOUDS FUTURE83 Kevin Walter WR 6-2 219 Eastern Michigan 11 Jeremiah Cockheran WR 6-0 191 Hawaii 13 Jamall Broussard WR 5-9 172 San Jose State 18 Matt Cherry WR 6-1 203 Akron 81 Freddie Milons WR 5-11 193 Alabama My best guess is that the final 6 looks like this CJ, TJ, CH, KW, Perry and Warrick (highly doubt he can get healthy, if not then Broussard) ..call me crazy. San Antonio Bengal
I gotta agree with the med staff concerns. We had beaucoup injuries last year and a couple appalling misdiagnoses (Warrick, Perry). Had they nailed Perry's hernia to start with, he would have been available for the second half of the season. A sports hernia is a tricky diagnosis to make. There is not a definitive diagnositic test for a sports hernia. Because of this problem, physicians will first try non-surgical means of treatment. If the treatments fail, then the physician will know that it is probably a sports hernia. You cannot blame the medical staff for not identifying the hernia so quickly. Other medical staffs would have done the same thing.
TJJackson
My take: this training camp, it will be determined if Kelly Washington will remain a Bengal. My projection: he will be cut, with the remaining receivers beingChadTJChris Henry (wr and pr)Kevin WalterRussell -or- Broussard. Not both. (wr and kr)Tab Perry (wr and kr)Yeah, I pretty much think Warrick's release is a foregone conclusion. Love the guy, always will remember fondly the 2003 KC game he almost single handedly won, but he can't medically do it right now. Give him release, consider letting him make a comeback as a FA in 2006 if he doesn't catch on (no pun intended) elsewhere

You bet I'll call you crazy...You seem to think K Wash will make this team without a doubt because he was drafted in the 3rd round 3 years ago? Well, do you wanna explain your logics of why a guy who has yet to show up to off season workouts should be on this team. Not to mention he has stated he does NOT want to be on this team. And how do you put Jamal Broussard before K Walters! In case you forgot he was already released once. On what merit should he make the team this year?Last but not least, you should note that, before you put him on your final 6 list, P-dubz can barely walk nevermind play football.CRAZY!!!! brian5562
Until I hear KW himself say he doensn't want to be on this team then I will treat that as nothing more than a rumor. KW has a ton of talent and yes he has to do his part to stick with the Bengals. I don't understand what your infatuation is with Walter. What he made a few special teams tackels so now he should be the 3rd receiver? I quess that means Wilkins should get a look at starting olb. Brian5562- I also read in an insider article that K Wash has not shown up to workouts in Cincinnati and it is speculated because of comments made by Kelley and his 'slick' new agent that he wants to be traded because he feels he can be a #1 or 2 on another team as opposed to #4 on the Bengals. We'll see how it all plays out though...
brian5562
Do you have a link to this insider article? How many works outs have there been? And is it a fact that he won't show up to the upcoming workouts?
WhoDey
Brian- Unfortunately I do not have a link to this article. Insider articles are for paying members. The article I read was posted by a member on a message board at footballhuddles.com. Workouts have been going on 4 days a week since April 4th. KW claims that he is not coming back...However for all we know he could come back tomorrow. I just think it says something that he has not come back with the rest of his team.Check out Footballhuddles.com
brian5562
Thanks, and you are right if KW doesn't show up soon and strart busting his ass he will be on his way out.
chrishcovga
I happen to think that Money Talks, and Bulls**t walks, so if Peter Warrick is healthy, he'll be a Bengal this year.If the rumors about Kelley Washington aren't true, this will be his last year with the Bengals regardless...So here's my 6.# 85 Chad Johnson# 80 Peter Warrick# 84 T.J. Houshmanzadeh# 88 Chris Henry# 87 Kelley Washington# 83 Tab Perry* I put the numbers there, cause I'm trying to realistically get an idea of what numbers they could be wearing... Hard not to see a U.C.L.A. guy wear # 83.

kingwilly
I am Crazy! If K-wash does not do the workouts and gets all mouthy, then send him on his way... You can bet that a Kevin Walter or another rim-rider will try to step up.I mentioned Broussard becuase the guy has some flash... he returned some kicks with Carolina that I thought were going all the way only to have soemone miss a block. Might be a nice complement with a Tab Perry bringin it back.Ok, so KW gets tossed, insert Kevin Walter...I suspect they will give P-Dub unitl mid-August and then make a decision. He would be among the last cut..if he does not go on June 1. I like Broussard to step up, with his moves and tenacity...he's a P-Dub clone. BUT, he does NOT seem to have stepped up his development. IMO if Washington does NOT stay, the Bengals will keep a backup kickoff returner -- Cliff Russell is my leading candidate to backup Tab Perry -- Although Boussard might also work and provide a change of pace (size/quickness). I just thought that they would most likely be our " best " 6 going into the season.* Hard to call Kelley Washington a " spoiled " athlete considering how hard these guys work to make it into the NFL, but the rumors of the tantrums etc. are hardly helping his cause ya' know?
