DawgNeil
Don't you mean the sharpest tool in the shed? Sorry, just kidding. I actually appreciate the insight into the bad news about Thurman since I was never able to find out what the character issues related to. "that ain't no way to treat a lady...." Doah! schweinhart
He isn't the smartest tool in the shed eitherDon't you mean the sharpest tool in the shed? Maybe it means Thurman ain't as smart as a tack.Thurman visited. Not only ML but Mike & Co. wouldn't go for him if they thought the issues were completely out of hand. Big, mean-streaked, pass coverage skills, smashmouther....Great pick of a player I though would go before Bengals picked in 2nd.
wookie
Thanks for dropping by with some insight into our picks, Dawg. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to have guys from WVU etc stop by with some insider info on the rest of our picks.Lewis seems to be going after some guys that you wouldn't think would normally fit his ideal player. Guys with attitude problems just haven't lasted long under Marvin's watch. Hopefully Thurman and Henry realize this and shape up.I was also wondering. Did anyone notice who Thurman was was crushing in his photo on the Bengals page?? I'm not 100% sure, but it seems to be Cadillac Williams...could be Ronnie Brown, but Brown is heavier than Williams and I think it probably the slimmer Williams. Still, its a pretty good photo of our 2nd round pick taking out one of the top 5 picks in the draft.
derekshank
We're not going to a 3-4. At best we are going to go back and forth because of the number of versatile guys we have. At the moment though, the only guy we have that could play NT is Askew, and he isn't ready. So, lets all calm down a minute.About Pollack, the reason they drafted him was to replace Hardy, so he is not going to be on the end - Geathers started coming on by the end of the year. The What actually might happen is when Nate Webster returns, we might get to see some Landon Johnson play SS. But that is assuming that Thurman is going to be ready.Have some reasonable expectations. He is going to a be a special teams guy at the beginning of the year. He will not bea starter any time real soon. So the exciting aspect of this draft is what it will mean next year, when Pollack and Thurman have a year under their belts, and Landon Johnson has 2 years under his belt. That is when this team could really start stuffing the run. Until then - Let's go Carson! Who Dey!
ArmyBengal
This is a pick I love !!! No one thought Thurman was going to be there at #48. I have to think not only are they skeptical of injuries to Webster, but LJ as well. As stated many times and it bears stating again, DEPTH DEPTH DEPTH... As far as the 3-4 goes, ML has already stated they are staying with the 4-3 and using 3-4 in certain situations. I think they are just trying to be more diverse and not so predictable on D. Anyway around, this is a good pick and our D will improve !!!WHODEY !!!

I think Landon will be fine on the outside.Bring Thurman in the mix at Mike Backer (look at me, using football jargon like I know what I'm talking about )and take the pressure off Landon of having to hold down the middle.I think his shoulder will be fine.I HOPE its fine. cover2
Could Landon play SS and what kind of a job could he do?
jditty47
we have good depth. johnsonabdullahmillermitchellsimmonspollackthurmanhardywebstereven if those 2 go, we have 4 solid starters, and 2 great reserves that could start if needed. BengalszoneBilly
After the injuries that decimated the "D" last season, you can easily reason the Bengals going for some depth.

bengalsfan33
Odell can get to the QB like no other fron what the scouting reports are saying and he's a hard hitter.I really love this pickup guys!
gajake15
Another thing about Odell is that he is a country boy. He's from Monticello, Georgia, which is a small, small town about 80 miles southeast of Atlanta. Until labeled otherwise, he's been called the "Monticello Monster" at UGA by those who followed his football career closely since high school. With the dawgs, Pollack, Thurman, and Geathers who the Bengals have picked up, know that you have also picked up many supporters from the UGA fan base. Don't know why, but the Atlanta Falcons have yet to recognize the impact drafting or picking up a couple of UGA players here and there would have on the fan base. UGA alum are going to Cincy, the Pats, and the Steelers for some reason. Good luck and I hope they do well.
