Dadraftnick
Its time to say Bah-Bye to da P-Dub!! Peter Warrick is on the last year of his contract. The Bengals just over paid T. J. (for one good year )with a fat contract like they do with all of ther own free agents. So it looks like Warrick is the odd man out. I dont think he'll be missed much.Kelley Washington is waiting in the wings and looks beter than T. J. looked at that stage. If the K-Wash can get some reps he should devolop the way T. J. did once he got some reps.Warrick has only had one good year since the Bengals drafted him.I always had the feeling he was hanging around for a paycheck anyway until Marvin got here. Before Marvin Warrick wouldn't go over the middle, had aligator arms, and dropped too many balls. So I say TRADE HIM NOW!!! Now while they can get something out of him.If they wait (which I predict they will) teams will get their WR in the draft and the Bengals will end up cutting him and get nothing out of him.The smart thing would have been to trade him for Darren Sharper. The Texans would have got something out of him and the Bengals could have re-done Sharpers contract. But,that would have been the smart thing. We're the Bengals we dont do Smart. So,Trade him for a 4th round pick, a7th round pick,a conditional pick, trade him for an aging veteran, trade him for a practice squad guy, trade him for a box of towels and a jock strap to be named later I don't care just get something out of him.Miami,Dallas, and Batimore to name a few are looking for a WR.With Warrick beining a Fla. State boy he would fit in well in Miami.I just heard that under the new system Jason Taylor will not be rushing the passer very often(what a waste of talent) and he should have a good year or two left in him,it could be a perfect fit.----I dont care just get some thing out of him now while you can, because everyone knowns he wont be here at the begining of the year. BengalszoneBilly
Okay, say the Bengals do try to shop him around. Which team would be most inclined to make such a trade in your opinion, "Dadraftnick?" Could it be, say...Da Bears!?!
chrishcovga
I'm not in favor of Trading Peter Warrick this year. I don't trust an offense that may have T.J. Houshmanzadeh and Kelley Washington as their starters if something were to happen to Chad Johnson !!* I say we keep Peter Warrick for this year, ( Maybe even sign him to a one or two year extension ) so that he's available to be traded next season. As a Bengals fan, I gotta see what this offense could do with Chad, Peter,T.J., and Kelley Washington to throw to. Add in the fact that we'll have Rudi pounding the ball, behind an infusion of youth to the offensive line, and HOPEFULLY , a healthy Chris Perry, and maybe, just maybe a tight end that will challenge oft-injured Matt Schobel, waste of space Reggie Kelly, and " I guess he's a special teamer " - Tony Stewart !This offense has the real potential to put up 6,500 yards of offense with all that talent at the skill positions. Carson Palmer could have a 4000 yard season, with a running game that should put up 2000 by itself..?? Let's give this offense at least one year together to see what it's capable of, and then let the chips fall where they may. :player:
thepudgester
Warrick is still good, better than T.J., keep him, makes Carson that much better, wouldve had maybe 80 catches this year. If we pick up Clayton, Williamson, Roddy White or another guy he should be cut or traded though.
whodey_88
how quickly people forget how much warrick brings to this offense when he is healthy..... this is a much better team with warrick in the slot and chad and tj on the outside..... "When" is a very important word in that sentence.
Dadraftnick
How many passes is Warrick goint to get thrown his way? There is only one ball. You already have Chad Johnson (a Pro bowler),T. J. (nearly 1,000 yards last year),Kelley Wahington (who was projected by many as a 1st round pick)who is up and coming. You have TE's and RB's that want the ball too.Add on top of that the Bengals are talking about drafting a WR in the draft. This is the last year of Warrick's contract.Get something out of him now while you can.He will be gone next year anyway.Keeping him could keep T. J. from devoloping. You dont want T. J. looking over his shoulder all the time. When they gave him the big bucks they were saying you da' man.If they could swap him for Jason Taylor or even get a 7th round pick that would be great. Before you laugh on the Jason Taylor thing -he is at the end of his career, the Dolphins have a new coach that may want to clean house and needs a WR bad.It would work out better for Warrick to be somewhere where he can shine. It could help more than having him around to catch 200yrds worth of passes.I dont think he will be on the roster on oppening day anyway. BengalszoneBilly
You dont want T. J. looking over his shoulder all the time. Sometimes you do. Nothing motivates a player to be the best player he can be more than another player vieing for the same spot on the roster who is being the best player that he can be.Of course that method doesn't work on all players, but usually those guy's who can't handle a little competition tend to be wussies anyway, IMO. bengalindian
The Jason Taylor thing would be sweet if that could happen--however, can the Bengals take the salary of Jason Taylor, and exactly how realistic would that be? Do you think it would be a draft day trade or something afterwards? Just wondering....Also, the Reds were sweet tonight.....
