HairOnFire
Chad Johnson did the latest version of his act on NFL Total Access. I listened politely...nodding when appropriate. Then Chad mentioned that he's been hitting the weights. How much? Well, he now weighs 225. That's when I passed out.
alleycat
Oh My GOD. That's 33 lbs over his listed wait on the roster. I knew he was talking about improving his toughness and running after the ball, but is he trying to become TO? Bulk and strength means squat if he loses that speed/agility. blaynero
fyi, he doesn't live at One Lytle place anymore. He's got a house right next to my buddy. He came over there once when I was there to borrow my buddy's ladder. As he walked away he turned around and asked if we knew who he was. Of course said yes and he was so suprised that we didn't mention him by name. When he brought the ladder back he said, let me know if you guys ever need anything from CJ. HairOnFire
uhm, uhm, ok, he was, like, you know, joking, like he always does, right? Maybe. I couldn't say as the interview only showed him from the shoulders up. But he delivered the news as straight faced as Chad Johnson ever gets and never let on as if he was pulling Rich Eisens pasty white leg. That said, take it for whatever it might be worth. Perhaps it was just another example of Chad being Chad. Would be nice though. The guy might throw a block once in awhile if he had more size. turningpoint
I take that approach with all the NFL players I've seen/met act like they are just normal people, i think it makes them feel more comfortable and aren't bothered all the time.I can still remember way back in 2003 in the summer when Marvin was dropping off his son for football practice, I was dropping off my cousin and just acted like he was a normal dad and didn't say a word. ( of course he was on the cell)I;ve met brian simmons, Deltha oneal, Shayne graham, and scott koistra. from working at best buy.All I've ever said was just gl and keep it up, and had to tell B simmons i saw him INT on Sunday night in person. schweinhart
Chad named every CB on each team on the sked he'll be up against. He said he'll have 5 cut ups on each one and will know every move they can make.No one will be better prepared for the season to start that Chad. It's 15 TD time. :player:
ArmyBengal
Anyone see him on ESPN's show Batlle or some s**t ?? When I turned it on, he was bowling. It was the end of the game, but he had a stricke in the top of the 10th frame. He looked ackward as hell bowling, probably like how I would look playing basketball or on a dance floor !!! I do have the whole white-boy bounce down pat though !!! Anyway, Chad is going to tear it up this year with TJ and P-Dub on the field at the same time. If K-Wash can step it up, that would be a scary WR set to cover. Now, if I only felt as confident about our D and run stopping capabilities... WHODEY !!! bengalindian
Hmmm...maybe if the offense can just outscore the other team, sort of like the Colts, then the defense won't need to be as strong as we think they need to be....

The last area was an obstacle course, and the first part was getting over a wall by climbing up a rope. He was against Joe Horn, I believe, and he was up that wall in like 2 seconds, while Joe couldn't make it. Horn took the penalty by running around the wall, and Chad was still ahead of him!!! BEAST!! HairOnFire
i saw chad throw a ton of blocks last season. he is definately working on all aspects of his game. Did you miss the televised coverage of the Miami game? During that game ESPN showed four or five isolation replays of Chad blocking. Or to put it better, not blocking. None of the plays shown were away from the ball and in at least half of the replays you could see the player Chad was assigned to made the tackle. On one of those plays the CB slipped off and blew up Rudi in the backfield prompting one of the announcers to say something like..."Well, they don't pay him to block." Indycat
Chad named every CB on each team on the sked he'll be up against. I too was impressed with that part of the interview. He seemed very focused on his responsibilities in regard to making this a successful season.
BengalByTheBay
I was interested to hear that Indy has a new CB ... "cover 2" was his name(?). Funny how Indy's "d" is becoming somewhat of a laughing stock.
