Indycat
Heath Miller would be a good every down TE.If we can’t trade down than I still believe he would be a valuable pick for us at 17.He will not make it to out of the first round. The jets could take him at 26 or eagles at 31……. the panthers might even take him at 14. No way he makes it to 48.Don’t get me wrong… he’s not the only good pick at 17. I like Pollack, Davis, Rolle, Johnson, and Merriman too.Miller could be the clutch 3rd down receiver we missed last year with Warwick out. chrishcovga
Here are the two guys I think the Bengals should be looking at when considering the TE position, and both will be late round selectionsBoth very good size and speed, not specialists for the most part (ie can block AND catch) and athletic. Just need experience. Perfect late round picks at this spot.my favehttp://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/playerpro...omecollins.htmlmy second favehttp://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/playerpro.../adambergen.htmhttp://www.nflfans.com/draft/2005/showplay...y=Adam%20Bergen I'm going to have to guess that you're a Notre Dame fan for Jerome Collins to be your favorite tight end out of an extremely weak class..?? I'll say this as easily as I can , there are no real lights out players at the tight end spot in the 2005 draft. 1. Heath Miller, average quickness, average blocking , really really good hands and size.2. Alex Smith, abover average blocking, below average quickness, solid but not spectacular receiving skills.3. Everyone else, thanks for coming ....There are a couple of day 2 prospects that have as much if not more upside than either of those two. Garret Cross TE, CaliforniaAdam Bergen TE, LehighVictor Sesay TE, MissouriWhen I see these three guys I think of Three players, Cross = Ken DilgerBergen = Stephen AlexanderSesay = Marcus Pollard - and I really like Marcus Pollard ! TJJackson
Well, the more I read about Collins, the more it becomes evident that he wasn't productive, and that's uhm, well, important. Yeah. :-)Bergen was at least productive (albeit at a lower level of competition, but also being thrown to by lesser qb, etc), so yeah, I now favor Bergen as a late round TEIn another thread, Bergen is my 7th round pick in the set of 7 for this year. yeah, the 2005 TE class is really, really weak. What I didn't like about Sesay was/is his speed. *shrug* I figure you can teach a player to do everything, but a late round pick IMHO preferrably has the stuff you can't teach like speed and smarts. Kirkendall
No with a capital SPORTS HERNIA. Yeap, that's the word on him:Had he not had a sports hernia operation in January, Miller probably would be a top-15 and possibly a top-10 choice. He expects to run a 4.8 once he's healthy in May, and everyone knows he's the best tight end in this draft.Jets and Steelers are other teams possibly interested.
