TippCityRick
Do aging DT's all have the same agent!! It's like a revolving door. I say send them all packing and pick up someone at 17.
Kirkendall
No way, I'd take a veteran defensive tackle over a rookie any day. Most defensive tackles that come through the draft make zero impact unless their slated to a life of pro-bowlism. And DT isn't like a position where mad skills decline so does the player. As long as you eat cheeseburgers, recognize the double-team, you're A-ok.
HoosierCat
I agree, we need a bit more of a veteran presence on the line, tho getting that wouldn't preclude them from going DT or DE early in the draft, either. Right now we have two roster space vs. last year: Tony Williams' spot and Carl Powell's spot.

Right now we have two roster space vs. last year: Tony Williams' spot and Carl Powell's spot.Agreed. But I'm not for drafting a DT for our first pick either as someone pointed out eariler. I understand the need, but the value of the pick exceeds the contributions most DTs can deliver -- and we haven't gone up and down the draft promoting a superstar-like DT (which is rare in the first place) other than a few names being dropped here and there. We'd definitely have to groom someone.
bengalboomer7
I agree Kirk, there are plenty of talented second third and fourth round guys too. The mizzu boys, that fat arse from Utah, and some good DE's too.
Section 310
I don't mind picking up a guy like Jasper. Sure, he is not going to be an impact player for the next 5 seasons, but he is a proven commodity who can play this year. Sign him to a one or two yeardeal and hope that Askew or Geathers can force him into a back-up role.
BengalNation1281
I would rather have Jasper than a DT at 17. I'm partial to solid veteran DTs who could help groom the young guys, and Jasper would fit that mold perfectly. And, as I said in the draft forum, I would rather get a guy like Attiyah Ellison or Ronald Fields in or past round 3.I fear that a rookie DT is not going to yield the immediate results that we need on run defense. Besides, I have faith in Moore and Askew.
cincy9275
i would rather have jasper than robinson. since this team has done nothing to improve our defense. so far this offseason
schweinhart
Well, let's see...Bengals DTs1. John Thornton2. Langston Moore3. Shaun Smith4. Terrence Martin5. Mathias Askew.Given a blank check, I'd opt for 5 new DTs...except maybe keep Smith.
