LABengalsFan09
I know we got just a sampling or taste of what this guy can bring to the defense. A fiery practice player, an (over?)aggressive, speedy game player, but what dimension will he add or diminish in your opinions in 2005? Does his return to health push landon to SSLB and improve the run defense? Is he a locker room presence they lacked during the majority of the year? Does he improve team speed? What type of impact will he have? In my opinion, I love the guy. He is a heat-seeking missile out there. His play versus Miami was a good measuring stick for the types of things he can do. Vs the Jets he could have had 6 or 7 more tackles if Caleb miller would have held contain or had Brian Simmons been in there. I am very excited to see how his rehab is going and how hungry he will be come June. :player: :player: :player: Who-Dey. :player: :player: :player:
chrishcovga
I'm not sure what type of player we got in him in the first place? Was he the fire plug that lit up Miami on Sunday night? , or Was he the guy who couldn't find the ball or the running back, and kept overpursuing the running back in the Ravens game?* To be honest with you, the image that stays in my head of Nate Webster was the 75 yard run that basically ended the game against the Ravens. Nate Webster had his back to the hole and Jamal Lewis ran right behind him without Webster having a clue where he was!

kingwilly
Saying he had a good game against Miami is meaningless. EVERYONE had a nice game against Miami last season. He is only OK. We did not see enough of him to see how he would have progressed through the season last year, like the rest of the guys. Id say the jury will be out on him till mid-October 2005. Tampa Bengal
I've seen Webster play for the Bucs and his play was very much like that of the Miami game. Granted it was Miami but he brings a lot of swager and attitude to the game. I think he will fire up the players around him and work as a motivator very much like Ray Lewis does. FonzieDog
If he does not become the starter again this year hopefully he will add very good depth at LB at the very least.
skyline
If he does not become the starter again this year hopefully he will add very good depth at LB at the very least. 99% sure he'll be the starter. That's what they brought him here to do. I don't think they ever intended to keep Landon in the middle and Caleb Miller isn't going to beat out Webster. He seems to be a bad-a$$ to look at him, but his play leaves something to be desired. Maybe he just doesn't have the same nose for the ball as other premier linebackers in this league.Kirkendall Posted on Feb 14 2005, 01:23 PM  Too little data. Cannot Compute. BEEP! AGrizzlyBaer
i think landon is going to make hardy the odd man out in the starting lb corp
CTBengalsFan
i think landon is going to make hardy the odd man out in the starting lb corp agreed. He's good in Madden We'll see how that translates into a full season.
turningpoint
either Landon or Derrick ( from texas) when he drops to us. :player:
bengalsfan33
I don't know enough about Webster to say that he'll start next season, but if was to get injured again, we'll have solid guys to put in his place like Caleb Miller or Landon Johnson. But I think Hardy wll be sent packing, and Landon will most likely take his place- that's if Johnson doesn't fall to us...

ArmyBengal
#1. Only time will tell about Webster. If he plays up to his attitude and persona, he'll be a great asset. If not, we have backups.#2. There is no way Derrick Johnson falls to #17. He will never make it past the Saints who draft ahead of us.#3. What is it with you guys and comparing what MB and ML do to what can be done on Madden ?? Are you guys kidding or do you need a job real bad ?? Anyway, I hope the best for Webster and hope Hardy on his way...WHODEY !!!
glnwf
Agreed if Webster stays healthy he will be a great asset. There are other positions that need more attention. Like Center Defensive tackle, to name two.
