Monday morning. I plan on doing each position each week. Hopefully that leads us to training camp, or at least close to it.

But I don't know, at this rate I'm thinking of extending it. Some seriously great debating going on right now.

LOL, yeah you won't see me get too much more heated than I am for this one. Yeah I'd like to see us get in all the positions. :player:

I voted for Dillon. Rookie rushing record, blew up the Broncos for the single game record, one of 7? with six consecutive 1000 yard seasons for his first years in the league. Typical Corey in the Super Bowl, the run is plugged, he hits the back of his line cuts back out runs the overplaying defense and has 40 yards.

Too bad Paul Robinson doesn't make the top 10. How he did what he did the first two years of the Bengals franchise I don't know, but watching him run the sweep turned me into a Bengals fan.

Must admit I wasn't totally plugged into the 80s without cable, so Brooks wasn't really on my TV screen much. Who did we trade to get him? I was thinking Joiner, but that trade with San Deigo was way too early.

Charlie Joiner was traded for Coy Bacon back in the mid-70's. The media guide says Brooks was traded in 1984 for Pete Johnson. But I seem to remember Pete Johnson playing with the Dolphins after he left here.

wut up people, im new to this and decided to try it out. at the time i registered, i was the tie-breaking vote in favor of brooks over dillon.

people have made a lot of good arguments taking into acount the teams they each played on, and they are both damn good running backs, but i gotta take brooks on this one. if you wanna take into account factors other than straight up rushing, such as receiving, i figure you also got to take into account leadership and professionalism, because lacking these can detract from a teams performance overall. brooks.

if you only want to looking at rushing stats, then yea dillon, but being a RB is about much more than stats, in my opinion. and even there its close because they had different roles on different teams.

I agree that Brooks was the better all around back than Corey, he was also back in the day where most players on the Bengals were "Team" oriented. Corey was all about Corey when he was with the Bengals. The Bengals didn't help that matter, but I'm glad he grew up, he needed to . Corey was always a good back, not balanced but that is not what he profected, Brooks did, his whole game, as mentioned even Kick/Punt returns, let alone to say the unselfish task of blocking. He would be a real find now a days! :player:

That's another post all to it's self; any back in the draft any size that could imulate a James Brooks in the Draft??? :player: NOT! :player:

That get's into the difference of the terms "Runnuingback" versus, "Halfback"??

Actually if you are just talking stats, the case could be made that it should be Brooks.

Well over-all stats and not just rushing yards that is.

See this thread ...

Greatest Bengals Runningback, Bengal Greats

Some of the Bengals coaches feel that Chris Perry will be a Brooks "type" of running back.

That is why they were so excited to get him ...

Perry is what you would get if you combined Brooks and Dillon. He has the power and duribility of Corey Dillon, and the speed blocking and receiving skills of James Brooks.

He is so much better than rudi johnson its not funny.

Also, im not sure whats funnier about this poll, the fact that 2 people voted for Rudi Johnson. Or the fact that some people truely beleive that James Brooks is half the RB that Corey Dillon is.

Yeah, that Rudi really sucks. How does a guy luck into 1400 yards? Damm him.

And I am guessing that you never saw James Brooks play. You would only have been 7 or 8 when he retired in 1992. That gives you loads of credibility around here. So to say someone is half-a-whatever of somebody else is pretty weak if you can't back it up by your knowledge or experience.

Maybe Dillon will let brooks wear his super bowl ring.

Or maybe Dillon will invite him to his hall of fame induction speach.

Brooks was good, but any non hater knows that dillon is by far the best bengal RB ever.

Some of you should write a letter to Brooks about how much you liked watching him play. Maybe someone will read it to him.

Ya know ...

I think that it rubs a lot of Fans the wrong way, when you run-smack on Bengal players just to try to prop up your Favorite player.

James Brooks was a Great Bengal Player ...

There is no need for you to be showing your disrespect for him on a Bengals Fan board.

Cory Dillon was also a Great Bengal Player ...

But you do not make Dillon any bigger by trashing other Bengal Stars.

You may be of the opinion that Dillon>Bengals, but few here share that opinion.

Could it be that maybe you are the one who is "the hater" ?

Could it be that you were hoping that Rudi would be a flop ?

Could it be that you now down-play the success that he has had, simply because he is the one who replaced Dillon ?

Could it be that Anything that is Bengal-Related, but does not is some way Exalt Cory Dillon, Rubs YOU in the wrong way ?

Get the f**k over it already.

The Team is over it ....

And well on their way to being a winner without him.

Cory himself is over it ....

And is tired of having people contrast everything that he does with the past.

Most of the Fans are over it ....

And it has become really Old news.

But seriously, i like a lot of bengal players, Rudi doesnt happen to be one of them, dont act like im only a Corey Dillon fan, he is my favorite player, but the bengals are still my favorite team. Perry, CJ, Housh, Palmer, Spikes (if only he was still a bengal :(), and Madieu are some that come to mind.

I agree with that statement 100%. Just ask Minnesota about that one. You can't tell me that Randy Moss isn't in the top tier of WRs of all-time physically, but its what he says and how he conducts himself that takes him out of alot of peoples lists. Part of being great is much more than just how your play affects your team. It is also how you mentally rub off on your teammates that should be taken into account too.

Its a shame this forum has more Dillon haters then real bengal fans. Funny that a RB who wasnt even a feature back is considered better then a future first ballot hall of famer by some of you. Nah i dont really beleive 30 of you think Brooks is better, maybe 5 or 6, but the rest of you just hate dillon and wanted him to lose.

Oh well, Brooks wins this, i guess dillon will have to settle for a super bowl ring and a trip to canton in 10 years.

Just because someone doesn't vote for Corey doesn't make them a "Dillon Hater." They just have a different opinion than you. Here's a tip...odds are you're gonna meet a few more people that also have opinions different than you later in life. <_<

I am sure he would say that being selected the No. 1 RB by the Bengalzone group would have been his career accomplishment had he won. :( I can see why you are disappointed.

Calling the majority "Dillon haters" isn't really right. You weren't even old enough to see anyone before Dillon play running back for the Bengals. OK maybe Harold Green, Garrison Hearst or KiJana. But the Bengals played football for 18 seasons before you were even born, so take it all with a grain of salt. There are some people that have seen all of the Bengals RBs, so maybe they know a little bit about it than you or I do.
