vettespd20
I know its VERY early but for the fun of it what do you guys think our record will be this year? :player:
bengalboomer7
I'll say 11-5 at least, maybe even better!!
vettespd20
If i guessed this early not knowing what is going on with some of the players that may not resign I would say 10-6 or 11-
BengalNation1281
I'm gonna say 10-6...we have a fairly tough schedule, but we'll be improved enough to not lose games that we have no business losing (Tennessee on Halloween, anyone?) and will beat enough of the good teams that we play to get the wild-card.I could also see 11-5 (shoot, I can even see 12-4), but I will temper my optimism for the moment and go with 10-6. Either way, playoffs in '05.BN1281

OICanDoThat
I'm gonna go with 11-5, but still managing to get snubbed for the playoffs again, while someone witha 7-9 record makes it in the NFC. Damn AFC is too competitive.
turningpoint
13-3 we were a 10-6 team last year, if you take away about 3 mistakes.
BengalNation1281
Actually, we were a 11-4 team last year if you take away the mistakes:INT at the end of NYJ gameFumble at the end of Tennessee gameINT returned for TD at the end of first Pittsburgh gameINT returned for TD and safety in second Pittsburgh gameThe Buffalo Bills game (I chose to just remove this one completely and pretend that it never happened)BN1281
R-U-D-I
9-7. Ask me again after the draft and FA. Hopefully then I'll say 11-5 with confidence. But w/o any additions and with questions unanswered...9-7.
ArmyBengal
9-7. Ask me again after the draft and FA. Hopefully then I'll say 11-5 with confidence. But w/o any additions and with questions unanswered...9-7. I was going to say the exact same thing, but not sure about 11-5. We are asuming alot saying 11-5 or better. I think the team is more than capable of 11-5, but with all of the unknowns (Draft, FA's, so on) it's to soon to say. Hate to say it, but lets pray there is no sophomore slump from you know who... We don't play all the top 10 defenses like we did last year, but we do play alot of top offenses and if we don't address the D, we are through. Maybe we could win the close ones, like 48-45.... Anyway, have a good one.WHODEY !!!
FonzieDog
9-7. Looks like we have a pretty tough home schedule particularly with Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Green Bay, and Minnesota. At first glance it looks like we have a pretty easy road schedule but most of the teams we play away figure to be improved next year with Tennessee, Chicago, Detroit, and K.C. I figure if we make improvements and upgrades through the draft and free agency we can at least split with Pittsburgh and Baltimore and continue to play tough at home. I think we make or break our playoff chances with the draft and free agency.
bengalboomer7
Our division doesn't worry me as much as everyone else. First of all, Roetheslberger WILL NOT play like that next year and the Steelers go about 9-7. Baltimore's D is a year older and Kyle Boller is still the QB, also about9-7 ans we all know Cleveland is weeding out the Butch Davis regime. If we stay healthy at our key positions next year, we will take that division
Beaker
I predict 16-0...until we lose our first game, then its 15-1...and so on...

bengalboomer7
Sorry, turningpoint until I see it on the field I can't give my personal thumbs up for PerryWith the emergence of Carson, and if he continues to get better and play more consistently like in the Balt game, I think Rudi could have a huge year looking at 6 and 7 man fronts

IMO the injury wasn't handled correctly, he shoulda been Put on IR a lot sooner.

Rudi average 4.5 yard/carry in 2003 and 4.0 yard/carry in 2004 with an injury-plagued Offensive line and a new QB. With a healthy OL for Bengals this season and an improved QB, if you allow Rudi to carry 450+ times, he could gain 2000+ yard.Eddie George only averages 3.6 yard/carry through his career. I don't want to down play Perry but he has not proven anything yet, except he was a first round pick.

BengalNation1281
Lester, don't get so feisty. I'm not angry about the mistakes anymore, I was just pointing out what I thought the big mistakes were and that the season might have been vastly different if they hadn't happened. I'm happy with 8-8, at least as happy as I can be with it. I know that 32 teams could say the same thing about some games...for instance, the Bills list would go:Bledsoe playing in Baltimore gameBledsoe playing in Pittsburgh gameBledsoe playing in Jacksonville game...and so onBN1281

Sorry. I just hear the same thing from my fellow Jets brethne i.e. we couuld realistically been 14-2 and it just seems in today's NFL, w/ everybody so close, every team makes that staetment. Bengals were an 8-8 team and I think they will be better next year (As long as they make the right off-season moves)...agree that they are a team on the rise. not-another
How about I call up Ms. Cleo and ask her what our record for the '05-'06 season will be. I say we go 11-5. If we dont make playoffs, hell with the Bengals. Im gonna watch hunting shows sunday morning. I will aleast see something going down, and a ball actually hitting its target. You cant fumble a bullet, baby.I think we are going to the playoffs this season.
