ckj414
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that if Perry wins the starting job AND stays healthy he won't break 1000 yards rushing. Uh, I don't think that limb is going to hold...
ckj414
Uhh, if Chris Perry performed like Steven Jackson i would of been worried. Steven Jackson, exactly as i predicted, looks like hes not going to be a great pro. let me get this straight - you'd be more concerned had Perry gotten over 600 yards and average 5.0 yards per carry in part-time duty? I don't get it...

UK Bengal
basically alexander is just talking there is no way we can afford a big money contract and that includes the one rudi is gonna ask for. Rudi will not resign unless as someone said earlier he gets his head out of his agents ass and thinks sensibly he wants to end his career as a bengal the help the freakin club man and take the worthwhile contract that is offered.Give perry his chance if rudi is gonna be an ass i like the guy but he just aint worth jack if he holds us to ransom. CTBengalsFan
He is using us for leverage, shouldnt be anything new to the bengals.IMO we dont need him, he is way better then Rudi Johnson, but i think Chris Perry will be just as good as SA only cheaper, and a huge upgrade over Rudi Johnson. Perry would be our best back since the great one in his prime with us.I hope you're right about that, except Chris Perry didn't impress me at all at Michigan...thats not to say that I don't think Perry should get the starting role next season, I don't think Rudi's worth resigning at what he's asking for. I just don't know if Perry will be as good as you're saying.Besides, who was the last Big 10 runningback to pay off for the team that drafted him? I can't think of any in recent history... eddie george

bengalboomer7
Not for the first four or five years, but he kept getting talked about for a couple of years after that and was clearly washed up.
LABengalsFan09
Only twice in Eddie Geaorge's career has he averaged more than 4 ypc, and those numbers were both 4.1..... His career ypc is 3.6... Why would I keep handing someone the ball who on avg. could not give me a first down with 3 carries... c'mon... His numbers were also inflated because he played the Bengals defense twice a year...(as much as that pains me to say...) Big 10 running backs are 90% flops, I sure hope Chris Perrry is in that other 10%

DontPushMe is trying to pick a fight with me.How cute.Still didn't answer my question, though, as I expected. Is it because he doesn't have a legitimate reason? Or does he simply throw out any opinion that will goad someone into an argument? Or both? It's time to break the cycle...I just don't want to waste the time.BN1281
schweinhart
A more realistic trade would be Reuben Droughns for swapped 1st rd picks like last year w/ O'Neal. Only I doubt Bengals would get the extra 4th rd pick like they did with the O'Neal trade.Droughns is a capable and proven back who might be workable contract wise. Then Perry can compete w/ Watson and Droughns for backfield work. Such a RB trio might reduce some of the guesswork about the 2005 season w/o Rudi. ckj414
eddie george Fair enough. I'm first and foremost a Giants fan though, so those Big 10 backs have cursed us - Jerrod Bunch, Ty Wheatley, Ron Dayne (for no Gain). Then there was Kijana Carter, Tim Biakabutuka, Darnell Autrey, Anthony Thomas. All busts, every one of 'em. I don't know how Eddie George slipped my mind though... Might be solid for a while, but nothing special. Well, to each their own, but that sure makes having an intelligent conversation tough. And when I've seen Steven Jackson play, he's looked like the real deal, with power, speed, good hands. I think he's going to be a fine back for a long time.

I think Droughns is Olandis Gary redeux - a mediocre back who only looks good behind a great line. As a backup I wouldn't complain I guess, but not for starter money. In some cases, ignoring the problem is the best solution. These guys live for getting people riled up. Just shine 'em on and walk on by. As long as they get somebody pissed off enough to argue with them, they're happy. Time to end their "happiness" and just ignore them.Or worse yet...totally agree with them! If we all jump on their bandwagon, it takes the wind right out of their sails! Oh, I know that sounds horrible, but why else would they be here if it wasn't for the fight?Am I right Pushy, Tubby, and 2004? Are you here just for the fight? Who knows...maybe I'm wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.
DontPushMe
I honestly dont understand why im considered a 'troll' here. Is it because i am a fan of Corey Dillon? or is it because im a fan of Chris Perry? Or Maybe its because i think Rudi Johnson is an average RB. Im not here to piss you people off, i just have opinions that sometimes differ from everyone elses.

You just harp on it continously and with Dillon being in the SB, it's going to draw some serious discontent. You're not a troll, but you've got to understand why people are reacting this way too. chrishcovga
LOOK, anyone here that honestly thought New England WAS'NT going to win the superbowl after the trade that sent them DILLON is on CRACK. - You didn't have to be a genius, you didn't have to just be a NE or Cincy' fan to know it. It's called basic football instinct. You give the best team in the NFL a hall of fame caliber back ( a**hole or not ) and they're going to continue to win until somebody stops them.* I however look at it this way... Dillon got his, great, but how great would it be for Cincy to beat New England in the AFC Championship and rightfully dethrone them! That's what I'll be looking forward to, don't know about ya'll. * But how's this for a trade ( really gonna' piss people off with this one ) How's about we send Peter Warrick, Kevin Hardy, and a 2nd rounder to the Vikings for Randy Moss.
BersMrnsT
The only people who that trade would piss off would be Vikings general management. They expect to maybe get 3 1st rounders, and at the very least some type of package of a 1st round pick, a GOOD defensive player, and/or more picks.it's because while you know no one wants to see your "COREY DILLON WINS THE SUPERBOWL" thread, you still post it, in an a**h*** mannerperfectly stated CT
bengalboomer7
As crazy as he is, I wouldn't mind having Moss, but if I were the Vikings it would take more than that. A WR coming off some serious injuries who has never fullfilled his hype and an old LB whose wheels have fallen off. They will want something a little better, like a tagged Rudi, Warrick an a second, but I would n't do thatThis is a guy that scares me though cause I can easily see the Ravens going after him. How bout Terrell Suggs, a second and a fourth (may even have to go first) but I just see it happening. Maybe even McAllister.
