bengalboomer7
That may be the first time I've seen someone get mad for talking about white people . But seriously, I don't want him running that much unless he's in Billy's magic 8ball situation
BengalszoneBilly
Sorry if you got worked up over my usage of white "boys".Ill be more politically correct next time. This white boy is gonna get worked up if you turn all "P.C." on us here office linebacker! I took no offense at the white boy reference. I understand the message you were trying to convey when you said "slow ass white boy", as in the older Dan Marino type of tall pocket passer who has the scrambling ability of Herman Munster whacked out on Demerol! Not the more athletic, not nearly as "slow ass" white boy types like Fran Tarkington, Terry Bradshaw, Jim Plunkett, Doug Flutie, and Steve Young were in their day, and several young QB's in the league are now! Like Jake Plummer, Joey Harrington, and Jeff Garcia.Fact: The top 4 rushing NFL QB's are black, but not even the other three top black rushing QB's come close to Micheal Vick at #1 with over 900 yards on the ground. Culpepper is #2 500 yards behind him!I reckon you made one mistake here Tate...comparing Vick's athletic ability to anybody in this league. Black or white, I doesn't matter. They don't compare! CTBengalsFan
I'd like to see him run so that defenses might be concerned about it if he rolls out and it can get that extra second to find an open receiver.

BengalszoneBilly
Uhm, you lose yardage when you take knees....That's okay by me. In 99 out of 100 knees taken by a QB, it's to run the last few clicks off the clock before the team walks off the field victorious! Forget the individual stats...it's all about the Benjamins baby! Uhh, uh-huh, yeah - Uhh, uh-huh, yeah ...
chrishcovga
Coming out of USC, Palmer posted the second fastest 40 time of all quarterbacks in the '03 draft ok. So he's plenty athletic. The real liking Marvin and Co. had with him wasn't just his laidback personality, but his ability to throw accurately on the run. Something that we watched plenty of as the season progressed. * Something that you should notice about Palmer, is the growth he showed during the season. He started as a Passer, and before the injury became a " quarterback " ! As he matures further, he'll be ( can't believe I'm saying it ) Kitna like. Kitna does have a good sense when to run , the difference next season will be that CP can run for a first down, instead of a 2- 5 yard scamper like Kitna. not-another
I'm glad Carson is a a pocket passer. Being a running QB is dangerous. You A)Put yourself at risk for a injury B)Lose yards C)Don't hit your target as well.I done some scientific thinking. I come to the conclusion that running QB's don't have that strong as a arm but are fast. Like Vick (who should became a runningback instead of a QB). And QB's that are pocket passers have strong arms and not so strong legs. Like homeboy, Carson.
BengalszoneBilly
Like Vick (who should became a runningback instead of a QB).Wha? The reason he gains so many yards is due to him being multi-faceted. IMO he wouldn't gain near as many yards per carry strictly as a RB! I'm not saying he couldn't do it, but it's the threat of his arm that opens up the run for him!I done some scientific thinking.I wasn't aware that was required for a football forum. I'm woefully unprepared if it is!

bengalboomer7
Vick has got a connon. Don't you remember the powerade commercials where he knocks the guy back ten feet. That's proof enough for me!

I watch ESPN, thats my research.Vick isn't no Carson in throwing, and vice-versa. You all are making Vick out more than he is. He needs more passing game. Were his RBs actually run, not him. bengalboomer7
Vick is not a very accurate passer, but no one will ever question his arm strength. That guy has a major cannon, but is not a polished accurate passer like Carson

Just the threat of being able to throw one over the top of defenses is enough. If he had the accuracy to go with his throwing power the recievers would have to put up gazelle like 40 numbers to catch them. And they'd be in stride, guaranteed.
