Corey Simon

Hey all...

Simon's agent, Roosevelt Barnes wants Simon to be paid more than Kris Jenkins and Booger McFarland. The Eagles offered him $6M a year and $10M signing bonus and Barnes called it an insult.

For that kind of money, and Simon's actual production on the field, the Eagles were the ones who could consider themselves robbed.

He's not worth the money he's asking. He's not even worth close to what the Eagles offered him.

Sounds like a couple of " class " guys. We've had our share here as well and really don't need any more thanks.

I know .... send him to New England .... him and Corey can flip burgers together. B)

Am I the only one who Wishes that I could get insulted by being offered several million dollars to sign a contract for several million dollars to PLAY A GAME ?????

I'd rather see them spend the money on TJ and Rudi and perhaps lock up a few other guys instead of dropping a load of money on a guy that some else didn't want anymore.

I would honestly rather the bengals give Jon Kitna a 17 million dollar salary over 3 years then resign rudi johnson.

Resigning rudi means he will be on the feild, and thats not a good thing. The sooner hes gone the better.

Kitna plays like a girl. I could have played better than he did the last 2 sundays. Why give a guy 17 millon doller salary when he cant hit the damn blind side off a barn? There are more worthy players out there.

Kitna needs to move on, that cracka's football career is over. I rather have Rudi, than Kitna.

Im sorta undecided on the Rudi thing.

I didnt really mean i wanted the bengals to sign kitna to that deal, i just meant i dont want rudi back at all. I think Perry and Watson are more then capable. In fact i think either of those 2 rbs would be just as productive, or more, then rudi if given the 333 carries rudi has received this year.

not to mention that fact that the NFL draft this year has 4rb's slated as 5 of the top college prospects, only mike williams is mixed in with them, also not to mention there's edge james, Risky Williams, Shaun Alexander, and Lamont Jordan.

that's 10 possible backs, along with RUDI that could easily start in the NFL, then were forgetting about Minnesota and KC looking to probably Unload a back this offseason.

IMO f**k rudi if he wants a lot of money We can look elswhere and have capable RB's here already.

That's a good point right there. It's gonna be a buyer's market for running backs. There will be a ton of good ones available, and the draft is deep at back. Hard to imagine any of them, including Rudi, seriously breaking the bank. The only one who might is Alexander.

And, teams should think long and hard before tying up a ton of money at that position given who all is available...

Thats out of character for the Eagles...did they hire Dan Snyder as a consultant?

Out of character?

Have you SEEN the numbers in McNabb's, Kearse's, Owens', Runyan's, etc contracts?

What are you complaining about? The Eagles have been, aside from the Patriots, the best team in the league at salary cap management. Do you realize how much worse it could possibly be? Ask any Bengals fan, they'll tell you ;).

With the possible exception of Kearse (and maybe Runyon, I really don't know anything about his contract), they never overpay. They let Hugh Douglas, Trotter, Barber, Mitchell, Taylor, and Vincent all walk (and others I'm sure)...and you know what, it turned out they were right to do so in every single case, loyalty be damned. So whatever choice they make with Corey Simon, I'm likely to take their word that they're making the right choice.
