walzav29 Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Peter King showed a clip of an interview where he asked Dillon if the Bengals will ever win, and all he did was laugh and laugh. They didn't show him saying anything else. King said that Lewis is going to show his team this Saturday night. If pepto can motivate Cleveland then this should have the D ripping Dillon's head off. I hope the Bengals cream him and Rudi rushes for 200. Quote

CTBengalsFan Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 after talking to so many Patriots fans about this game (I go to UConn so there's plenty), it has gotten me so fired up about it. They all basically think they game is a given for the Patriots and I'm PRAYING that the Bengals win so I rub it in their faces. Quote
walzav29 Posted December 10, 2004 Author Report Posted December 10, 2004 You ain't kidding. I understand that they are well coached, but he's not a damn magician. Our passing game is superb, and Rudi is a tank. Their secondary is beat to death. I refuse to believe that beatdown secondary will shut CJ and TJ down just because they have *** damn cap'n crunch on their helmet. Last I checked Marvin isn't some retard. Bengals 49 Patriots 13. Get off the Pats jock, all the media attention they gotten over the past year has brainwashed you, they're not unbeatable. Shut down the run like Pitts did and they can be had, if LeBeau can do it so can Marvin & Co. Don't you believe?????If you saw what our wr corp did to Balt last week, who has one of the best secondaries in the NFL , I love our chances against some back-ups. We are going to shock the world by beating everyone favorite NE Pats. This is the game were we take our respect, since no one wants to give us any. We are for real and the rest of the NFL will take notice, if last week wasn't enough. I refuse to believe some Gay boy can stop our shine, not gunna happen, CP & the crew won't let it happen. Quote

All I want to know is what is going to happen when Corey turns into the whiney 'lil biotch and we win. When teams lose to the Bengals their seasons have a way of going down the crapper. The Broncos are 2-4 after getting their butts kicked on MNF, Parcells looked like he wanted to jump out off a building after we lambasted them 26-9, and earlier in the week I thought Ray Lewis was going to stab reporter if they asked him about last weeks game again. Last year Priest Holmes was cryin in the locker room after we beat the then un-beaten Chiefs, whose going to be the teary eyed biotch on Pats?? My money is on Dillon, he wants to stick it to us bad, show us up, embarrass us. But when we shut him down(just like the preseason game) he will show his true colors, it's easy to get along with people when you are winning. It's when you are tested and you go through adversity is when you show what your all about, and Dillon showed he ain't about sh!t. Quote

Shut down the run like Pitts did and they can be had, if LeBeau can do it so can Marvin & Co. It'll be a little tougher for you guys to shut down the run - the Pittsburgh game is a poor example, as Dillon was inactive for that game and Cedric Cobbs was just coming off an injury (Faulk was our only healthy back, and he's a scat back). Not to mention we've got Branch back at receiver. On the defensive side, the backups hadn't had much game experience at that point and now they have 4 or 5 games of experience in the system and have been playing well. Randall Gay and Troy Brown on D is no laughing matter, which I'm sure you'll find out.Have fun. Quote

schweinhart Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Provided Bengals predominantly play man, O'Neal should get Branch. However, O'Neal was downgraded to questionable. So we'll see. If not O'Neal, then Keiwan or Madieu.James is gonna have to come up w/ year's best game to handle Givens. I don't think James can deal w/ Branch if he lines up against Tory.Hopefully, Bengals go as much man as possible in coverage. Brady will pick apart zone coverages like Palmer will vs. Pats secondary.Dillon seems likely to get plenty of yards but so long as he's contained from reeling off 20+ yd runs, is kept between the 20s, and shut down in red zone, the big yardage total won't determine W or L. Randall Gay and Troy Brown might be good enough to beat Kyle Boller and Cade McNown, but Carson aint' them bums. Palmer torched the best defense the NFL has had for the past 5 years. If ProBowlers can't stop us, do you think a wr and un signed free agent can? Be honest, the last few weeks hasn't really challenged you on the offensive side of the ball, Cleveland and Baltimore aren't offensive juggernauts. You better hope Seymour & Co. gets constant pressure or your make shift secondary will be exposed for what it is. Quote
denverbengal Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Sorry guys but if you ask any football fan or player from some place other than Cin., the same question, the laughter will be just as load and just as long. After reading that idiotic statement, I decided to take it upon myself to see if your "theory" holds water. So I asked 4 of my co-workers here in Denver (2 Bronco fans, a Squealer fan, and a Packers fan) if they thought the Bengals would ever have a winning team (and told them why I was asking). Surprisingly enough Shasta, none of them laughed. I thought for sure that you and CD were on to something but apparently not. I got responses like, "Carson Palmer is the man," and "Marvin Lewis is turning things around for them." No laughing. Hell, even the Squealers fan admitted that we'd be fighting it out with them for the AFCN in the future. That's a big step for a Squealer fan to admit they might actually have some competition. Do they know something you don't perhaps? Maybe they actually watch other teams than their own. As ignorant and insulting as your comment was to me Shasta, I have the feeling CD''s laughter will come back and bite him in the a$$. I didn't think the CD factor alone was going to be enough to motivate the entire Bengals team. I sure do now (thanks Leon). God, I wish I could be in that meeting room Saturday night when Marvin shows the team the tape of Leon laughing at them. It pisses me off as a fan. I can only imagine what effect it's going to have on the team. Quote
jjakq27 Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 It's funny how everyone just loves ol' Corey in NE these days. He's gone to a great team with a great staff and management. However, someday the bills will be due. How will Corey react as this team hits some adversity? It won't be his fault that's for sure.BTW, it's funny how Corey begged his OC to put him back in the game so he could get two more yards to get 100 but he quit on his team in Cincy and took himself out of more than a few games. Go figure.... Quote

As far as the future of the Bengals, I truly do hope for Bengal fans that they do turn it around, however after one 8-8 season it's unrealistic think that they are there yet. As I've said before this game won't be close. Quote

As I've said before this game won't be close. no, it wont be. bottom line is rudi is not going to get inside with warren playing the way he is, and you can't go outside on our LB's. i say 15 for 50 or 60 for rudi. brady will SCORCH you secondary if the patriots opt to go 5 wide (which they will do at home). this is of course if the bengirls stop CD from ramming it through your weak first and second lines. CJ is good, no doubt. but he is not going to get the time to run 50 yds downfield, BB won't let mr 16 TD 17 INT have the time. but i think he will get at least 1 of those illegal contact calls because of his talent. and enough with deltha oneal, he's not that great. i like the bengals, maybe if they can shore up their D they will one day challenge pitt for the AFCN, but the time is not now. As I've said before this game won't be close. We're definitely not there yet. But we're no laughing stock either. There is allot of young talent on this team, and we can beat anybody given the right circumstances. I'm not saying we will beat the Pats on Sunday, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if we did (unlike most Pats fans). It's going to take time for Marvin to undo what's been done to this franchise by it's own management during the last 14 years. I think everyone here realizes this. The important thing is that it's getting done. We Bengals fans see it. And in a year or two, the rest of the country will see it too. Quote
