jjakq27
I just don't see the Bengals looking at Rudi if he asks for a lot of money. It's not that I don't think he deserves it, but for some reason, this team doesn't use him well with our offensive strategy and a lot of money may be over-kill. Perry the solution? Maybe, but he's still yet to be seen. We're going to have a lot of questions going into the off-season it seems. I love Rudi but it seems like this year he is 1/2 step too slow getting throught the holes. Maybe it's the injuries on the O-Line or teams have figured him out but for having 800+ yards it doesn't seem like there have been many long ones or timely ones. Some of this could be tied back to Bratkowski's pass-happy playcalling. Maybe if Rudi was able to get more than 10 carries in the first half things would be different. In a side note, it will be interesting to see if Brat and Co. are around after this year. Remember that he was a holdover from the LeBeau era and was aligned closely with Kitna. I believe that some of the playcalling has stunted Palmer's growth. Now that the D seems to be headed in the right direction, I wonder if Marvin will focus on the offense this off-season. Obviously Warrick's injury has limited them but that's where the tight ends come in. BTW, is Reggie Kelly still on the team? Just wondering.Maybe Zampese gets moved up or they bring in a guy (Norm Chow from USC) in to be the OC. Just a thought.

I love your point on the "timely ones" runs the most. How many 3rd and 1s have the Bengals gotten this year. Percentage of what Rudi converted to first downs and the trend of the plays called on 3rd and 1 in the past 5 weeks. I'm tired of looking up stats. Any takers? BENGALTHEM
I'm a big Rudi supporter just like everyone else, he's tough, can break tackles, and is durable. But I think we should let him go. Running backs are a dime a dozen. Any running back can be good if you have a good o-line and a good passing game. This year the Bengals have neither. So instead of wasting doe on trying to keep Rudi, spend that loot on getting another speed WR (who knows what's gonna happen with Warrick), another 0-lineman(center), or some DT's. We can always get another RB in the draft say in the 4th or 5th round.Ive notice that the only time the Bengals win is when the passing game is converting on 3rd downs and were up in the second half. If that happens then we can pound the ball with Rudi, and that's when he get's most of his yards. I don't think I've seen Rudi break a long one in the first half yet.As far as Perry being a bust..........I highly doubt it. That dude is tough, he can make people miss, and he's very nice catching the ball out of the backfield ala Ronnie Harmon. As far as Big Ten Running Backs suck, please................it's more like Penn State Rbs are sorry ie. Blair Thomas, Curtis Enis, Ki-Jana Carter, Larry Johnson.Michigan Rbs= descent Biakabatuka was good before he got hurt. The A-train is doin ok for the Bears, same with Wheatley for the Raiders, but Perry will be the best out of MICHIGAN...............GO BLUE! turningpoint
i just think it's funny that people bought his jersey, we got some ignant bengal fans out there, not realizing he probably won't be a bengal next season. In a money making stand point it would make sense to release rudi if we can get another star RB, just becuase it would sell a ton more jerseys. Kirkendall
As for Big-Ten RB's, let's not forget Eddie George -- say what you will be he's a 4-time pro bowl and 7 time 1,000 yard rushing back -- and Mike Alstott. Both I'd presume are considered successful RBs. But that could be my distorted view that the Big Ten is the best conference; even though records don't dictate that but it's hard to have an undefeated record when everyone except 2-3 schools are in the top 25, so it seems. cincykent
Personally, I think Perry is going to be a bust ala other big ten running back.Same could be said about Pac-10 QB's. Yeah, that John Elway really sucked!!!!

kybengalsfan
Does Perry remind anyone of Ki-Jana Carter? Hope not, but with his never-ending injuries, I wonder.
