kevnz
CINCINNATI (AP) - Coach Marvin Lewis said one of his Cincinnati Bengals was spit on during a 17-10 victory in Washington, and he hopes the NFL does something to crack down.Receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh confronted Redskins safety Sean Taylor at the end of the game Sunday, but declined to say why."It had nothing to do with physical contact," Houshmandzadeh said afterward. "He's a punk."Lewis said Monday that one of his players - he wouldn't confirm it was Houshmandzadeh - got spit on. The receiver wasn't available for comment."We had a player spit on yesterday, and that's not right," Lewis said. "It's something that's been escalating from certain players. Hopefully the league will do something to cut it out."This is just pathetic. It seems to me that it was Taylor that did it, cause I've never heard of TJ ever do something like that after a game. Hopefully somebody takes Taylors head off at some point this year.
BengalBax
Yeah, that's a real classy comment. Grow up.

Top five pick, can't even get through his rookie season without an embarassing drunk driving charge, his team sucks, rooks like Madieu Williams are outplaying him, and now he's spitting on people. I don't think you have to worry about anyone taking his head off, it sounds like he's going to self-destruct on his own.

Except that the kid can play...I think he'll be a productive player for quite a few years, but also a severe headache for whatever team he happens to be playing for... HoosierCat
Except that the kid can play...I think he'll be a productive player for quite a few years, but also a severe headache for whatever team he happens to be playing for... He has the tools and the talent, but performing like he's capable of will require self-discipline, dedication, and a willingness to look his weaknesses in the eye and work to overcome them. Right now, incidents like his DWI and this spitting business tell me that he doesn't have those qualities in abundance. We shall see. The_Next_Big_Thing
Madieu Williams is 5 to 10 times the player Taylor is.
ArmyBengal
Whoa whoa whoa. Check yourselves. Taylor, regardless of how big of a punk he may be, is a physical freak. He plays on a subpar team and should be frustrated. Not defending his actions whatsoever, but to cut his playing abilities is crazy !!! Tell me people weren't wishing we could find a way to get this kid in the draft !! He will be a force in the years to come, probably one of the better safties in the league. Madieu is "playing" better and I love having him, but Taylor is the better of the two as far as natural ability goes. Just my .02...WHODEY !!! Williams has a shot at the defensive rookie of the year, Taylor doesn't.Playing on a subpar team isnt' an excuse, it's an opportunity. Look at what Williams has done ON A SUBPAR TEAM. Or are you suddenly saying we are a playoff team that has a super defense?Oh wait, who has better players around him on defense? TAYLOR! That's right, despite his lack of performance (and ability and potential don't mean SQUAT unless you perform) is happening on the former #1 defense in the league.Madieu Williams IS a better player. He's smarter and more aware of where the ball is.

Just my .02... I agree, Taylor has the tools and the talent to be a top-shelf player. But so did guys like Tremaine Mack, Ryan Leaf, and Ricky Williams. IMHO, it sounds like Taylor has some personal challenges that he needs to work through if he wants to "be all he can be," if ya know what I mean . Bengal_Smoov
Sean has alot mental maturing to do, he is a talented football player though. If he spit on me I would have waited for him after the game and went O.J. on his ass, that is one of the most disrespectful things you could do to someone. Sean needs to know that you can't disrespect people like that and get away with it. TJ has beef that he needs to handle.
