kevnz
The media loves the "good player stuck on a bad team" story, and they will harp on this one, I guarantee you, even if nothing ever comes of it. You are right Joisey, except for one thing. Chad actually wants to be here. Pickens never did, and I'd say Corey never did either. I expect Chad to be a model citizen the rest of the season. Unlike previous malcontents with the team he wants the team to suceed. He does want to be great, but he's willing to bust his butt doing it though. Plus I think he has a Marvin Lewis sized boot up his butt now. He even had Ray Lewis call him up and try to help sort him out (say what you will about Lewis, but he didn't have to call up the best player for a division foe and try to give him some advice and help him out)

Pickens never did, and I'd say Corey never did either. I expect Chad to be a model citizen the rest of the season. I certainly think he's going to try, my point is just that the media will shove the issue in his face every time they get any excuse. "Hey, Chad, I see you only caught 3 passes today, don't you think you ought to get the ball more?" "Hey Chad, you were open long twice and Carson underthrew you both times, wouldn't it be better if you had a veteran in there?" "Hey, Chad, why are you on pace for fewer yards this year?" Etcetera etcetera etcetera. Anything to try to get him to demonstrate "malcontentedness." And even if he is a model citizen, they'll find some way to twist any comments he does make so it seems like he does. It's the old media game of "gotcha!"That is what I think Ray-Ray was talking about when he told Chad, "You cannot do, you cannot do it, you cannot do it." The star-trapped-on-a-bad-team is a popular storyline and the media will pick and pick and pick, and all that does is to take the focus off of what needs to be done on Sundays. kevnz
Yeah Joisey, the media will do all of that and more. But you know the best solution? Win. Cause then it's no longer a case of a good player bad team.

Dillon wasnt as malcontent as u make out, but u can continue hating for whatever reason u feel like.

Dillon wasnt as malcontent as u make out, but u can continue hating for whatever reason u feel like. Hindsight? The SOB said he'd rather flip burgers than play for the Bengals? Where's the hind sight in that? He took himself out of a game cause the team was losing? He sat down every preseason cause he thought he was too good. Hell He wanted to have a power struggle with the new head coach. What a prick! You can love on Dillon all you want, but the simple fact of the matter is he's out for number 1. What Dillon did and how he acted is a slap in the face for someone like Willie Anderson that wants to be here, that wants to see the team improve, to hell with how good he looks and Dillon goes and calls him a bum on national TV when he's still a Bengal. The Bengals are in the middle of a playoff race and what does he do? Scream trade me! What the hell has hindsight got to do with that? Dillon ran out on his chance to be a team player. You can drink all the Dillon Kool-Aid you want, but simply put Dillon is a prick
