Tiger Stripes
i was kinda suprised to see chad act the way he did, we were winning it was just uncalled for!
BengalsMan3203
Like someone else said.. Chad has big goals... To get to them goals there is only 1 thing he wants... he wants the damn ball.He knows... along with everyone else in here... If you get Chad the damn ball we are more than likely going to win the game. PERIOD.CJ is a game breaker. Just give him the damn ball and lets get some W's.By the way, I watched the game today on fox and I was really upset with how Fox went about things today. The whole "pouts" thing was uncalled for and was child like. Fox Network was more of the child today than Chad was. There is no room to put that crap on the air. The_Next_Big_Thing
As for the gatorade, he didn't throw it on anyone, he dumped it out on the ground. he was frustrated. So what! Let he who has not been so frustrated he did stupid things cast the first comment about this. He was open a couple times and didn't get the ball. He wanted to be a part of winning the game because he is that competitive. God forbid we actually have a player with some spirit.
The Brew Man
I can see both sides of this debate. I was also in attendance yesterday and saw the whole episode. I thought it was childish. And for one reason. They were winning, by two scores at the time! I have defended Chad over and over again but this was just stupid. How can you throw a fit like that on tv when your team is winning a game like that! If they are losing, Im in his corner, hes the man, if you wanna turn it around, get him the ball! That being said, lets hope we dont see this again and I still support CJ. ackley1
When do you ever hear Chad talking about getting a win?I really hope that was a joke... Okay I was wrong. He does talk about winning sometimes, but he talks about what he's going to do a lot more. His little fit really pissed me off yesterday, but when I thought about it I realized that he had a reason to be pissed. Palmer didn't throw to him much throughout the game, and he didn't throw down field much. Chad is our biggest playmaker and should get to touch the ball as much as possible. :player:
skyline
I do agree that it was childish. One thing we do know...Lewis will address it. We all do childish things from time to time, so here's hoping it won't become a habit.

However, it would appear Chads fit paid off as he was looked at 7 of the next 8 plays.....

We better throw to him every play!"I would guess Lewis just told him to hang in there, because he'll get his chances. Also, in last week's press conference, Lewis said they were going to aim to spread the ball around more this week, in hopes that it would spring CJ open more often. Apparently Chad missed the memo

Bengal_Smoov
If Chad wouldn't pout like a kid because he isn't getting the ball even though we are WINNING THE GAME, Fox wouldn't put up stats like that. As great as Chad wants to be he needs to fix his attitude if he wants to succeed. Behaving like a whiney bitch is uncalled for and will become a problem for his teammates. If I was a Bengal and we are winning the game they way we are and this guy is complaining I would have to think that he is just being selfish and could care less if we win or lose the game. You don't need teammates like that, regardless of how talented he is.
jjakq27
Be a leader. Suck it up and shut up (for once). Every receiver is always open, just ask 'em. No one threw off their chinstrap or pissed around like a baby when he was called for a false start in the 1st quarter. Palmer might be part of the reason but for me one of the most disappointing aspects of the first 8 games has been all of Chad's drops and his lack of production. Other than the long pass vs. the Jets and the great game vs. Denver, he has not been the force I expected.

JPW
Chad Johnson Plays Football with as much Passion as anybody in the NFL.....Does it bother me that he Wants The Ball ?Not a bit....I'll take his PASSION over any player who is too laid back.By the way:Johnson was the first to greet Matt Schobel downfield after his 76-yard touchdown catch. “No one was more excited than No. 85,” Lewis said of Johnson. “I was excited to see how excited he was chasing Schobes down the field.”Where are people getting that "Not a Team Player" crap ? No doubt that I am off my rocker, but I am not ready to put him in the category with TO or Marvin Harrison yet. Meaningless yards when the game is decided mean nothing.Quit with the self promotion and be a game changer.
BengalsMan3203
Oh yeah, Chad Johnson not a team player? Not taking 1 for the team?Even thou they didn't show much of the introductions I did see him Showing some repect to his brother Peter Warrick. The only player showing support to #80 by running out onto the field waving and show off Warricks number 80 Orange Jersey.Just think if Warrick was healthly I think Johnson would see alot more balls cuz its hard to cover 2 game breaks like Warrick and Johnson on the same field.... Next year.... Palmer will have all the weapons full strengh and you will really see the Offence fly.
BengalByTheBay
IMO Chad's just learning what it's like to be a star in the NFL -- how everybody makes a big deal about everything you do. He's a little immature still - yes. He thinks he can bust big plays every game. What he's not up to getting yet is that the game plan was to keep going underneath because the Cowboys were so concerned with CJ that they kept their #1 playmaker on d (Roy Williams) back in deep cover all game. They finally brought him up because time was starting to run out and what happened? Schobel beat them right where Williams had been. I would be more sympathetic to CJ if he would stop dropping that slant pattern on 3d & short. He's gotta catch that more consistently before he goes off about getting more looks. In another game, against another team, scheming differently CJ goes for big yards. In this game, we win because of him, but not because of his catches. I'm hopeful he gets that soon. WhoDey42
Chad answers all of your complaints in the bengals.com article:Although wide receiver Chad Johnson can’t believe there is a national uproar over his antics during Sunday’s 26-3 win over Dallas and he is puzzled over the do's and don’ts, he apologized Monday and said it won’t happen again. Johnson said he wasn’t mad at quarterback Carson Palmer, head coach Marvin Lewis, the play calling, or Cowboys rookie cornerback Lance Frazier. He said he was simply mad at himself during the various junctures he tossed a cup of Gatorade, ripped off his helmet after a low incomplete pass, and spiked the ball after an 18-yard catch. But reality hit home when he spoke with Ray Lewis Monday morning and the Ravens middle linebacker told him he can’t act like that. “He told me, ‘You can’t do it, you can’t do it, you can’t do it,’ ” Johnson said. “That’s not what I meant and he said a lot of people don’t understand how (I) am. They see that and they take a negative approach. Ray said, ‘You can’t wear your emotions on your shoulders. You’re high profile. You’re a star now.’ " But Johnson is surprised that the Fox TV team of Kenny Albert and Brain Baldinger ripped him all day during the broadcast, even to the point of putting on a graphic that included Johnson’s number of pouts. “I guess I have to be like a robot,” Johnson said. “For those who know me, they know that’s not me.”I'm glad Hobson called out the Fox announcers for being such idiots during the game. BengalByTheBay
You know, what's funny to me is that they kept pointing to Keyshawn as if to say -- "that's how you act like a mature professional in the NFL." Was it just me, or was that what others saw. I was thinking you gotta be sh***ing me -- Keyshawn is the role model. PLEASE. He was such model that he didn't even finish his season with Tampa because he was such a malcontent. All the sudden he's the professional. What's next? Corey Dillon is the consumate team player!?! Oh yeah, history has already been revised to make that the case too. Am I taking crazy pills????
Barbarian
I'll just say this:f**k Chad and his damned ego. There's 51 other guys on this damned team.Chad, TO, Keyshawn, Randy Moss, etc. They are all a bunch of f**king individual primmadonnas just trying to get on SportsCenter. And Chad's the worst one of the bunch--HE'S PLAYED FOR A LOSING TEAM FOR HIS ENTIRE CAREER!!!!!!! (Although short career). It's all about ME ME ME. Gimme Gimme Gimme. WHaaaaa!!! Whaaaa!!!! Whaaaaa!!!! If they wanna be individualistic prick primmadonnas, then I have a game that they can play--THE NB--f**king A.That's right--GO PLAY f**king BASKETBALL. THAT'S MORE OF AN INDIVIDUAL EFFORT. KOBE AND SHAQ PROVED THAT YOU DON'T NEED A TEAM EFFORT. THE LAKERS WERE A BUNCH OF INDIVIDUALS LAST YEAR AND STILL MADE THE NBA CHAMPIONSHIP.Someone needs to put a foo-foo in these athletes' mouths and tell them that FOOTBALL IS A TEAM SPORT. YOU NEED ALL 11 PLAYERS ON THE FIELD DOING WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING TO BE SUCCESSFUL.

Barbarian
stfu. if someone else would step up consistently mb he wouldnt have anything to bitch about. That just proves it, PDitty. CJ plays on a team. He's not an individual. He doesn't win ballgames by himself. Someone had to pass him the ball to get that TD. Someone had to block for Palmer when Palmer passed him that TD. Someone had to be the decoy for CJ. Someone had to play action. Someone had to get hit. That's why the primmadonna'ing at this point is useless. Especially by a WR that has to rely on 10 other guys to get him the ball.Did you get that, you Deion Sanders Wannabe???????? You also play on a bad team. STFU and play. Win games. Then talk and throw s**t all you want.
