I like this guys optimism. I don't actually share it, but I do like it. Here ya go for what it's worth:

Do the Bengals have a chance of stunning the Broncos on a rare Cincinnati appearance on Monday Night Football ?

Absolutely.

And if such an upset is to happen, it must begin with the Bengals run defense. Yes, run defense, the one that ranks dead last in the NFL. Somehow, the Bengals have to figure out a way to contend with the top rushing team in the league.

Impossible? Not really. This might actually be a good matchup for Cincinnati's defense because it relies so heavily on quickness and on defenders shooting gaps. Such gaps should be available thanks to the zone-blocking style of Denver's offensive line.

If the Bengals are consistently quick off the snap and making plays in the Broncos backfield, they have more than a decent opportunity to pull off a stunning upset. But if powerful Reuben Droughns is able to get past the line of scrimmage often enough, Cincinnati's smallish defensive front will wear down.

This would also be a good time for Carson Palmer to give more than a few glimpses of why he was the top overall pick of the 2003 draft. Some good pass protection, particularly from his running backs, would help make that a reality.

Of course you have a chance...this is the NFL...

I'm probably the only Bronco fan worried about this game, but I have good reason... The games the Broncos won, they haven't really dominated each game, even last week against the Raiders...Raiders beat themselves up early missing 2-3 players wide open that would of scored a TD, it would of been a completely different game if those have connected...

A couple of things that really worry me, Bengals are going to be PUMPED going into Monday night since you haven't been there in like 12 years, also Bengals desperate for a win, and everybody is expecting the Broncos to blow you out... All the ingredients to an upset in the NFL...

Exactly!

That's what I've been trying to tell everyone, if you think it's gonna be a blowout then you're in for a surprise.

Like you said, it has ALL the ingredients for the upset of this season!

God I hope I'm wrong...I do want the game to be as intense and close as possible though, I love games like that B)

Thank you! there are other level minded Bronco fans out there... If you think any game is going to be a bye week in the NFL, you're crazy... with Carson, Rudi, Chad... it's real hard to count them out, one of the biggest reasons why I am worried is that all it takes is 1 point to win..if Cincinatti makes it that intense game you're talking about, it can come down to one play...

I absolutely agree with you there!

It seems that alot of our fellow Bronco fans are stuck with their head in a donkey's ass, looking up our statistics over and over.

Now if they would please focus on the real thing and what great players the Bengals have and how pumped up they're gonna be tomorrow night, maybe they would realize then that this is gonna be a very tough game for us.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's gonna be tougher than any we've played so far.

This game smacks of the KC-CIN game of last year. No chance was given to the Bengals. KC was undefeated...and walked out of PBS with their tails between their legs, crying and moaning how they should have "Won the game..." cause everyone said they should have.

The Broncos are a much improved team and are a much better team than the KC of last year. They have won tight games but those catch up with you, see the JAX loss. Only the Raiders game was a lopsided blowout. OAK sucks aZZ though.

In this game:

Rudi needs to get going early balanaced by long throws to CJ and whoever else can stretch the field (Cliff Russel, where is the 4.19 speed?). Bailey is a shut-down master, but Chad will not drop passes this week. Plummer is 14-3 as a Painted Pony, and the Denver rushing game is a finely tuned mechanism of sod-busting destruction.

Still, Broncos may be a tad OVER-confident and the Bengals may catch them looking ahead. Bengals win on Plummer mistakes and hold the Broncos rush game to 90 yrds.

Bengals 27 - Painted Pony's 23

I also suspect that the Bengals D takes a couple of INT's from Jake the "Trouser Snake".

Uhm, no, not really.....

More than a few people predicted (excluding Chad) that the Bengals would defeat the Chiefs.

I just don't think that this will be the week to stop Droughns, especially considering that the Bengals have given up like 14 100 yd rushing games since last year...

After talking a close look at The Broncos I think that this guy could be right.

The Bengals just "might" match up well against the Broncos OL...

With the exception of Foster all of Denver's starting Offense Linemen are under 300 lbs.

So maybe having a DL that is Light but Quick will work. (for a change)

On another note....

Is there any chance that Denver would be nice enough cut Champ Bailey & Al Wilson and allow the Bengals to sign them before Game Time ?

I think that just maybe we might be able to find a spot for them on the Bengals Defense.
