Where are they now?

The Enquirer had an article this morning on the guys that are no longer playing in the NFL that were on the '02 team. I was sick to my stomach after I read that one. All of the money we wasted on those guys......

One guy that I thought they might bring back was LB Riall Johnson. He had some success against the Ravens last year and he can play special teams. I know that he is not Marvin's prototypical player but he's the type of guy that they should keep around just to stop the Ravens and Steelers big backs if they play the 4-4. We play them four times a year and Marvin said we have (1) win our division games and (2) stop their running backs. So far we are 0-2 in that regard.

That story should be required reading for all the freaked-out, nothing-has-changed, same-old-bungals, yadda, yadda, yadda fans. (Yeah, Bax & Conan, I'm talking to you! :P )

Jay-zus Kay-rist. What a collection of mega-flipping-suck-wads. How long is that "out of football" list???? And most of the rest have found "homes" on teams that are no better than Cincy. Dillon, Harris, and Manuel are about it in terms of guys who've made a step up.

And people wonder why it's going to take a while to get this team into shape. Look at that list. We are a frigging expansion team for all intents and purposes. 8-8 last year was a gol-durned gift from above.

Tell me Marvin didn't have some cajones to take this job. Sheesh, what a collection of trash...

Now just wait until 2007 when we are looking back at our 2004 class. You think that one was bad...wait until we compare it with this 2004 lineup.

Oh, I have no doubt that 3 years from now we'll be able to look back and find no shortage of players who turned out to be flops. However, that happens everywhere. Heck, the Vikes just booted Chris Hovan to the second team today; he was their No. 1 pick 4 years ago.

The difference is that by 2007, those players will be going or gone. This is in stark contrast to the Schula-Coslet-LeBlow era of unaccountability, when fealty to the Emperor, not performance on the field, was the deciding factor in keeping or waiving a player.
