What needs the biggest improvement???

You guys put alot of stock in Perry. IMO he shows the classic signs of being a flop. Maybe I'm still pissed they wasted their 1st round pick on him and not a run stopper. I could be wrong but so far this guy hasn't shown me s**t. Looks like another sorry RB out of Michigan. I hope I'm wrong.

In four games, he's touched the ball twice -- both on receptions. There's no indication whether or not he'll be a flop IMO. However, I will say, it's rather troubling that it took until the fourth game for the coaches to feel comfortable enough to put him in.

Then again, we have Kenny Watson too who has done very well for us in this crap Bratkowski passing oriented offense. The way the philosophy for our offense has turned out, we may be better off not keeping a RB on the roster anymore. Back me up here Barb :D

Let's not forget also, that Bratkowski is high on Perry because of his receiving skills. Problem for me is, why would you draft a guy whose good receiving at the RB position when you already had Watson whom you never tested out until AFTER you picked up Perry and why does it matter? Look at the last few Super Bowl champs, all with limited receiving skills from their RB.

This same discussion was happening last year when we compared Rudi and Corey. I still don't think Rudi is doing anything special a nominal half the price guy (i.e Perry) RB can do.

Unless Rudi proves he should be on this team, I don't see any job security for him in Cincinnati. I like the guy, but is it truly in the best interests of the team to deal with him with Watson and Perry in the wings? I guess we'll see...

We'll see it's way too late by then.

No doubt the 2 sides negotiated but I'd like to see the #s. Mike Brown or any NFL owner is not going to shell out Top 5 money for an RB w/o a full year under his belt. I can't believe Rudi was asking for Top 5 money either, knowing he hadn't fully proven himself yet either.

My guess is Mikey lowballed like a bandit w/ Rudi, especially w/ cap constraints and ML upgrading the D w/ the likes of Webster and Herring. Now, Rudi has taken his fate in his own hands and is running like he's possessed. Maybe the biggest need of improvement is still the front office.

And maybe Rudi does again this year what he did last year, which is to run for more than 150 3 times in a year, something no other Bengals RB has done. Maybe the game-costing fumble vs. Jets don't happen again and he reels off another 250 carries w/o a fumble.

By the end of the year, Rudi's value is likely way more than the Bengals pay. No way he gets the franchise tag and I hope he's not transitioned either because if Rudi holds up his end of the bargain this year, which he is doing, then he's earned his unconditional release IMO.

The poll left at least one area off.... The younger players need to step-up and fill the slots vacated by injuries, the veterans need to step-up and act like veterans. All teams are affected by injuries........ Look at the Pat's last year, they were decimated by injuries, salary cap, etc., they didn't use excuses. The rookies and subs filled in and they won a Super Bowl, they haven't lost in 18 games...... The coach's and player's we have need a lot of work. For those who want to bench Palmer, he can't get the job done without having an offensive line for protection, the line needs work on their technique and strength. The DB's need to cover on every play, not just when we have them 3rd and long..... We have guys who were kept on the team for their ability, either the coach's made the wrong choices or some are just "doging" it...... We need to play every play for a full 4 quarters, then we'll see results. GO BENGALS.

This is perhaps the most brilliant statement I've seen to date. Good job Jax. How were the hurricanes? Did you get to experience them?
