My Brief Miami-Cincy Preview

Miami sucks. I know that most everyone knows that by now, but with Ricky gone, they are looking at one of their worst years in quite awhile.

Cincy will get their defense sorted out, or at least sorted out enough to deal with Miami's anemic offense.

Carson Palmer throws for over 300 yards and three touchdowns.

Rudi struggles again but ends up over 100 yards.

Final Score: Cincinnati 28, Miami 17

Whoa!!! Waita sec, there homer-itis!!! Carson's going to have 300 yards passing????? ON THAT DEFENSE??? They completely shut down Steve McNair last week. McNair didn't even get 100 yards. Not even close to 100.

I think that Rudi will have close to 100 (but not quite)--but overall your prediction convinces me that:

YOU'RE DREAMING!!! Try again!!!

This one's going to be closer than you homers think.

And NOW alla sudden he's gonna throw for 300 yards? ;)

Sounds kinda fair weathered to me... <_<

The Fins didn't "shut down" McNair. Yes, he only threw for 73 yards (and a TD), but he only attempted 14 passes the whole game! Of which he completed 9, a 64% completion rate.

By comparision, they ran the ball 36 times...and since they were gaining an average of more than 5 yards a run, there was little need to throw the ball.

That said, I agree that if Rudi/Perry/Watson/J. Johnson put up that kind of performance on the ground, it's unlikely that Palmer will get big yardage since he won't be throwing much, either.

One might also add that while McNair did not have a big yard game, he was very effective. He posted a 101.2 passer rating (according to NFL.com). Even if Palmer only throws for 180-220 yards I'd like to see this kid lead this offense in other aspects of the game. It is also a chance to see if he really can shine against a good defense.

WHO DEY!

One must also note:

This is Jeff Fisher being a smartguy--he's a very underrated coach. He knows that Mi-ham-i has a great pass defense. The run will kill the Dolphins.

Why try to beat a team with the pass, when the run gets it done by killing the clock???

I like Fisher's coaching style.
