Kirkendall
From Bengals.comBengals rookie backup running back Chris Perry has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's opener against the Jets after the club's first-round pick injured his hamstring in Friday night's preseason win over the Colts. But center Rich Braham, who had arthroscopic knee surgery a week ago, is listed as probable. So are backup guard-tackle Scott Kooistra (knee) and cornerback Terrell Roberts (groin). The bulk of the Bengals' injuries are in the questionable category. Weak-side linebacker Brian Simmons, nine days removed from arthroscopic knee surgery, is listed there, as well as left cornerback Deltha O'Neal (ankle) and tight end Matt Schobel (hamstring). They seem to be bracing for left guard Eric Steinbach (elbow) not to be ready because he is listed as questionable while Larry Moore is listed as the starter on the depth chart. All the other injured starters are listed as No. 1.Backup rookie defensive end Robert Geathers (ankle) and backup rookie right tackle Stacy Andrews (ankle) are out. HoosierCat
Saw that earlier. Perry doesn't concern me much, in fact, I'd almost rather have Rudi & Watson as the 1-2 for Palmer's 1st game. The more experience he has around him the better. However, our o-line is thinner than...well, there ain't much more thinner than it right now. What a mucking fess. Basically we got six o-linemen good to go. Andrews is out, figure Steinbach gets scratched, and if Kooistra and Braham follow...well, I hop Victor Leyva ready for anything!Damn! NOT what Palmer needed in his first start!

LABengalsFan09
Don't worry about Richie, the guy has proven he is a warrior, and Larry More is more than serviceable behind Steinbach.... We may have to keep a back in to protect, but "Big Greasy" is enough of a roadblock...Leyva should be more than ready should someone go down, he has shown enough for them to only carry 9 @OL for this season, so let's go into the Meadowlands, gunz blazin', and see who's left standing @ :00!!!!2004 Kickoff: Lets get it on! :player: :player:

TippCityRick
Schoebel being out isn't that big a deal. I expect to see a lot of Rudi, which means they will use Kelly and Stewart. Shoebel may even be a scratch if healthy.
HoosierCat
Schobel has great hands and I have no doubt he'll be in if healthy. It's his propensity for injury I'm poking with a stick here. At least it isn't his hammy this time...Good news from bengals.com today: sounds like both Braham and Steinbach will go. HoosierCat
Injury update from curnette: http://bengals.enquirer.com/2004/09/09/ben1b.htmlbig news is that Madieu will start, tho it sounds like O'Neal will play. I get the feeling LG will be the same: Moore starts, Steinbach spells him.
