redsfan2
I take it no one has seen Caruccis predictions on NFL.com. Order of predicted finishes for AFC NorthBaltimorePittsburghCleveland CincinnatiYep ! Got us finishing dead last in the division. Also among other things .... Winslow Jr. as Offensive rookie of the year ... Running Back most likely to have a breakout year is Corey Dillon ! ....... and going way out on a limb .... SB Champs Patriots. Seems to be a little harsh on us.... We finish last .... Dillon does great now that he doesn't have us dragging him down anymore ... and Brownland unleashes their soldier on us on his way to becoming Rookie Of The Year !Conversely, Greg Easterbrook also on NFL.com has us going 9 and 7 and finishing 2nd to the Ravens. I don't know where it will put us in the division, but 9 and 7 is kinda what I had in mind as well. Easterbrook aside, it seems the Cincinnati reputation is alive and well in media land. Maybe King and Carucci were Both at Browns training camp.
jditty47
i think once our offense begins to explode our defense will follow suit. 9-7 or 10-6 is my prediction.
jamesbrooks21
i don't know but how the hell does a RB's yardage total directly influence W's or L's?if that was the case san diego would have won the damn super bowl last year. im not saying that you don't need a running game to be successful, but a running backs yardage total means hardly anything when all said and done. I think a lot of what people are looking at isn't the yardage total, but the TD total. and you're right, yardage doesn't mean squat to the teams win loss record, but touchdown production just might. Jam31
Personally, Im sick of the Jeff Garcia-makes-Browns-legitimate train of thought.True Peter King is an IDIOT but he also hard-ons for the Patriots and Jeff Garcia's Browns. So I wouldn't take it so personally.I had to pickup Da Soldia as my TE in fantasy but I can't see that defense stopping ANYBODY. I think I could run for 40 yards myself versus that defense. Their front four is inconsistent but damn their linebackers and d-backs can't tackle for shalalala. And Im not even about talking about my boy who hit the 500 spot againt them! How many did Rudi get versus them? Either way I bet he gets 250 this time around...Steelers, at least from my perspective are ALWAYS trouble and we always split the season series. I just don't know if Duce can hold up. I KNOW the Bus is flat. I think Turnover Tommy is suspect. They got younger in the secnodary so that should be an improvement.I can see them getting 8 wins, I could see them getting 4. schweinhart
IIRC Rudi had like 7 for 32yds in the last Browns game. Hopefuly he does get a few hundred vs. Clowns in 2004 but the thing that's got to change w/ the O is the inability to identify weakness and adjust game plan to capitalize on those weaknesses.Sticking w/ the script is great and all if it's working but w/o game adjustment on O, the Bengals might finish less than .500 in the North. Actually, the level King sets for Rudi (1,400+ yards) strongly correlates with wins and losses. For example, there were 11 teams that went 6-10 or worse last year. Only two of them, SD and Buffalo, had backs near or over the 1,400 yard mark (tho Duckett and Dunn combined for over 1,400 in Atlanta). In contrast, there were 13 teams that went 10-6 or better. Of those, more than half (7) had individual rushers with 1,400+ yards. Three more, the Rams, Cowboys, and Eagles, each had three backs who combined for almost or more than 1,400.So is it possible for Rudi to get the yards King predicts yet the Bengals still finish 6-10. Yes -- but also highly unlikely. And much less likely than a 10-6 or better finish.
