volcom69 Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 any one see any good guys get relesed that might be worth looking at and mike mckenzie is still a holdout would it be wise to trade for him or do u think our secondary is good enough tory james is kind of scaring me but who knows they could suprise me i hope Quote
schweinhart Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 James looked all right on outs and underneath stuff. Wayne burned him on a hitch move vs. Indy but Wayne can flat out fly. It looked like James thought he had safety help on the bomb to Price vs. Falcons. After watching Keiwan, I wouldn't worry too much about James, but it'd be nice to get at least another year out of James.I don't think the Bengals can afford to trade for McKenzie. Don't think the Pack would want James since their 2004 CB picks Batman and Joey Thomas look like they could be in the league for awhile. If James were traded to Pack, it would only save about $625k on the cap because James is in the 2nd year of a 4-year $14.4 mill deal including $3.7 mill signing bonus and we'd have to eat the remaining 3 years of pro rated signing bonus this year. If we cut James, it saves $2.5 mill in 2004 and adds $1.8 mill in dead money for 2005. $2.5 mill might be about half of what is needed to sign McKenzie, plus we'd still have to give the Pack a pick or player/s. Turi Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 Bills released Gildon, when we released earlier this year I know the Bengals were interested then, any reason why not now? Quote
