KYBENGALFAN
:player: Let's bring the NFL back to its purest form.. Bring the goal posts back to the goal line, and get rid of the sudden death overtime.. Teams should not be allowed to accept a tie at the end of regulation, either. Like, if you go for the tie, with under two minutes left in the game, you don't get credit for a tie (nor the loss, of course) -- only the team that gets tied, they get credit for the tie, because it's out of their hands at that point. I just think the overtime in the NFL is lame. Maybe they should go to a skills competition, like the Old SuperStars competition when the NFL players threw footballs thru moving targets and ran obstacle courses for points.. What do y'all think?? WHO DEY.. Thanks Coach Dungy for going for the win... Ya think if Marvin Lewis went for the win, and not the tie, that he'd be roasted for it on here??? jditty47
i disagree. i think in the preseason there should be no overtime and no chance at it. I agree with Dungy's decision yesterday...but not during the regular season. Overtime games are intense and make this game just that much more exciting. What do y'all think?? WHO DEY Following up an idiotic statement by saying "WHO DEY" does not make it better...Overtime = good. Sudden death overtime, maybe not, but I've yet to see something else that doesn't result in games with dead tired defenses that are just waiting for some kind of major injury. KYBENGALFAN
Where is everyone's sense of humor?? Ok, instead of a Superstars competition, how 'bout a spelling bee. Or arm wrestling.. How 'bout a 5-way chili eating contest.. Just having some fun. :player:

In fact, the Bengals should consider adding me to their roster for just such a purpose.
BengalBax
I don't find it funny at all. Get focused on Sept. 12.
BengalszoneBilly
I don't find it funny at all. Get focused on Sept. 12. Obviously Bax checked in his sense of humor at the start of preseason. Bax, I think most Bengalszone members are focused on the 12th, and every other game date on the Bengals regular season schedule, as well as possibly a few post season dates as well! Otherwise why would they even bother posting here?
WorldBFree
Nothing wrong with overtime, it's the coin-flip and kickers ability to make 55 yard field goals that ruins it. All a team has to do is win the toss and get 35 yards and all of a sudden they can win the game without the other team even getting a chance. It took the NFL a long time to implement 2 pont conversions, hopefully they don't take so long to adopt the college overtime system which is way more fair to both teams, IMO.It works both ways, though. NCAA really needs to implement a playoff, because yearly controversy is ruining college football. I'm rooting for Utah and Fresno State to run the table this year to fuel the fire for a college playoff.
jditty47
utah is good but they wont run the table. No one has ever swept through the mountain west and Utah isnt the strongest team ever to hit that conference. Fresno State might, but they are starting unranked and who cares if they go unranked through the WAC. Get into a real conference with more than 1 other good team in it.
