walzav29
He's pretty old, but we could use pass rush help.
Tampa Bengal
I'm sure another team will claim him before the Bengals get a chance.
Bobcat Bengal
I've always liked Hugh Douglas, he went to school at a HBCU in my backyard (Central State University).Hey Tampa, how do those horseshoes taste?
Kirkendall
The way we played against the Pats, then no. If the way we played against the Falcons, then hell yes. Just depends on what team will show up on Sundays.

JPW
I'm sure another team will claim him before the Bengals get a chance.Just how does the Waiver Wire work ?
wookie
Douglas would definitely be a good pickup if he's around. He's getting up there in age, but we wouldn't have to use him every down. He also has something that Lewis covets, Playoff and Championship game experience.
Kirkendall
I'm sure another team will claim him before the Bengals get a chance.Just how does the Waiver Wire work ? You put someone on the waiver wire, it goes through a predetermined set of teams and any team can claim based on where you are on that predetermined list. It's much more complicated than that, but it's the jest of it. From my understanding, the "list" is usually worst team first like the formula used for the NFL draft or the season prior if the regular season has yet to begin. But I could be wrong on that aspect. I think thats the jist of it, but I'm not sure if thats how the order is determined. Seems that the Bengals got 1st shot at a lot of guys last year...so maybe, but I keep getting it confused with the supplemental draft. JPW
So our best guess is that we would be somewhere near the middle of the List ?
Kirkendall
So our best guess is that we would be somewhere near the middle of the List ? Depending on how it's set up which no one has declared yet they know. Either wait and see or google it and let everyone else know here. jditty47
i think it starts at the draft picks...like chargers have first priority but once they take somoene of waivers they are placed at the bottom and so on.
semiotter
I say yes to HUGH DOUGLAS. If some of you think he is to old the BENGALS dont have to use him just for certain times. like 3rd down pass rush, or other times. he would be very helpfull and might not hurt the cap. :player:
wookie
I say pick him up and use him in obvious pass rushing situations. Play him like Reggie White was played when he got older.
Kirkendall
Play him like Reggie White was played when he got older. But he's nothing close to Reggie White. My question is why should we pick up a DE who signed a five-year, $27 million free-agent contract with a $6 million signing bonus? Doesn't seem fiscally responsible for us to pick up that $$$ as a 3rd down specialist?More teams will pay more money for him than we will.. this signing will NOT happen.
