HoosierCat
Ravens starting C Mike Flynn fractured his right clavicle this a.m. in practice, per espn. Out 6-8 weeks, so he should be back in time for our first game with Baltimore. Won't make Boller or J. Lewis' lives any easier for the first part of the season, tho.Related aside: I was paging through ffmastermind.com's NFL Quick Bits & they had the Ravens injury report from Monday's practice listed:The Baltimore Sun reports Ravens LB Peter Boulware (knee), CB Fred Weary (quadriceps), CB Corey Fuller (leg), DT Matt Zielinski (knee), DE Marques Douglas (elbow), DE Tony Weaver (ankle), QB Anthony Wright (shoulder), TE Trent Smith (leg), TE Todd Heap (shoulder), WR Devard Darling (quadriceps), WR Travis Taylor (groin) and WR Derek Abney (arm) did not practiceSheesh. They seem pretty banged up for this early... EDIT: Wow. According to the team site they may have 7 starters out opening day (and that was before Flynn was hurt).http://www.baltimoreravens.com/template.ph...content_id=4459

HoosierCat
I hear ya.I've been a bit concerned about or own walking wounded, like Warrick and Steinbach, but they both appear to be coming back, maybe as soon as the Atlanta game. Meanwhile I keep reading bad injury news from elsewhere in the division. The Browns o-line is already falling apart and Bell is struggling to come back in Pitt...Browns Injury Update --Tue Aug 24, 2004 --from FFMastermind.com* The Beacon Journal reports Browns OL Melvin Fowler and OL Joaquin Gonzalez both have high ankle sprains, Gonzalez hurting himself in the fourth quarter against Detroit. The team says the injuries are day-to-day, but both could be out extended periods. The team signed OG Jason Anderson to replace Fowler at backup guard and moved rookie OT Chris Chambers in as a backup tackle. CB Michael Lehan re-aggravated his left foot sprain against Detroit and was on crutches and in a cast Monday as a precautionary move. S Chris Crocker (concussion) did not practice Monday but is expected to return this week. Roosevelt Williams (ankle), who missed Saturday's game, was back on the practice field. OL Ryan Tucker sat out practice with a pulled hamstring. LB Chaun Thompson (broken wrist) will be re-evaluated Thursday. He is waiting for the bone to solidify around a screw inserted into the wrist. He is still hopeful of being back for the opener. -- Steelers Injury Update --Tue Aug 24, 2004 --from FFMastermind.com* The Post Gazette reports the Steelers aren't making much progress with LB Kendrell Bell, and neither is he. Bell missed practice again yesterday with a shoulder injury that caused him to miss practices all last week and the game Saturday against Houston. HC Bill Cowher listed him as questionable for the 8 p.m. game Thursday in Philadelphia.
