kitared
I know it's pre-season, but how did it feel to beat last your SB Champs 31-3? That is great your D didn't even let them in the endzone!!
CTBengalsFan
i got off work, turn to a patriots radio station, i hear the bengals run a few plays then kick a field goal and they say "well, that makes the score 31-3, Bengals"i almost did a double take, it's definitely a good sign, especially for Carson
Sox
It felt great. It's only pre-season,but the fact is our first team kicked their first team's asses up and down the field the entire first half on both sides of the ball.Belichick was so pissed he kept the first string D out into the third quarter. The majority of the Patriots first string played well into the 4th quarter, and even our scrubs were getting the job done.My hat's off to the defense. :player: They haven't played that well since...since... now that I think about it, I've NEVER seen the defense play so well! So much for all the worries about our small line! It kicked their bigger, fatter Patriot asses!! Another myth goes by the boards! My hat is off to the offense. :player: They were firing on all cylinders. Carson showed all the promise we knew he had, and the offensive line OWNED the Pats defensive line! That permitted Rudi and Chris to have running lanes, and provided Palmer with more than adequate time to find the open man time and time again! My hat is off to special teams. :player: They did exactly what you want them to do...their jobs! The did it very well last night. And most of all, my hat is also off to Coach Marvin Lewis. :player: On a short week he and his staff transformed the team from a bunch of separate, dysfunctional parts, into a DOMINATING, GIANT KILLING, RUN STUFFING, SCORE AT WILL BEAST!! :player: THE ROAR IS BACK!! WHO DEY & IN MARVIN WE TRUST!! :player:
Barbarian
I'll just have to state this--that the Patriots began last season by going 0-2--we all know what happened in the last 14 games. The Patties went on a tear. Historically, for the past 3 years, the Patriots always start seasons slow. Belicheck will have them "in check" by week 3 or 4. So, I wouldn't start pumping the kegs just yet. Here's an example:The Bills beat the Patties 36,000-Nil last year in week one. All the analysts were writing off the Patriots as a one year flash in the pan. Then the Patties go on to win the Super Bowl. Tom Brady is aka Captain Comeback again--and all is well in New England. Now for the good stuff:Ok. I could be majorly wrong about Palmer. The kid has a cannon the size of John Elway's. He looked really good. 3 TDs??? On the world champs??? Wow.The one TD where he squeezed the pass in between (it seemed like) all 11 defenders was amazing. However, I'm still looking at this as IT'S PRESEASON--DON'T POP THAT BONER JUST YET. Thanks for keeping it in perspective Barb, no one else around here seems to get it. Its good to be happy about some of the things the Bengals did, but its still only preseason. The Patriots got pounded in week 2 as well, then haven't lost a regular season game since. If we had them in week 2 or 3 I'd be more optimistic, but they don't play until December...in Foxboro!!! It could easily be a complete turn around in that game.I am happy to see that Palmer continues to improve, that the kick coverage team did well, Rudi is running hard, and Perry is starting to pick things up. The O-line, D-line, and secondary all showed up and helped shut down that dangerous offense. My feelings now, I'm cautiously optimistic. I've been walking around work all day talkin' s**t, and looking like a circus freak in poor fitting pants!! The women are strangely avoiding me... Actually, the Pats beat the Eagles 31-10 in Philadelphia in week 2, beat the Jets week 3 and lost to the Redskins week 4.They didn't lose a game after that.
