Dolphins CB Banks suffers spinal injury

NFL.com wire reports

MIAMI (Aug. 14, 2004) -- Miami Dolphins reserve cornerback Korey Banks suffered a spinal injury and was taken off the field immobilized on a cart during his team's exhibition game against Jacksonville.

Banks appeared to move his arms before being lifted onto the cart. He was hurt making a tackle in the second quarter.

Medical personnel spent several minutes treating Banks on the field as most of his teammates gathered around him. He was strapped on the cart with his head immobilized before being taken from the field.

The Dolphins said Banks suffered an injury to his C spine, but provided no other details.

Banks, who spent part of the 2003 season with Miami as a rookie but didn't play, was listed as a third-team cornerback on the depth chart.

The Dolphins are cursed this year, they lost a safety last week to a torn ACL and MCL. All that and they still won their preseason game.

That's just awful, hopefully he'll be able to make a full recovery. It was promising that he was able to move his arms. :(
