ArmyBengal Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 The Reds keep things going tonight, hosting the Cubs for the next 3 at home.Arroyo, Cingrani, and Leake will be taking the mound this series. The Reds are tied with the Pirates at 1.5 behind the Cards. The Cards are off tonight, so they could cut the lead to a game with a win.The Pirates start a 3 game series at Texas tonight. Here's to hoping they continue their winning ways !!!GO REDS !!! skyline Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 No kidding.Wood has been good against us all season... Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 10, 2013 Author Report Posted September 10, 2013 Can't afford to be losing games in the standings by losing to the freakin' Cubs.In fairness, it was only a half game, but still. Now 2 games back. Quote
Stripes Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 7-0 Cubs.Wasted the sweep promptly. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 11, 2013 Author Report Posted September 11, 2013 And now find themselves 3 games back to a team they don't play again and has an easier schedule.I think the Reds are just going to have to hope for the best in a "win and in" scenario. If you follow the schedule out Latos won't face the Pirates in any of their last 6 games against each other. He will also be the one slotted to start in that "win and in" scenario if that's where it ends up.Unless the Pirates shift their rotation, having someone go on short rest, they are looking at starting either Morton or Cole.I would like that matchup with Latos starting for sure. That is depending on what they do in regards to Cingrani and the back spasms that took him out of the game early last night.Just get the d*mn win tonight. skyline Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 Just hoping they get healthy. Sure would love to see Cueto and Marshall back. It'd also be nice to leap frog the Pirates and have the playoff game at home... Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 11, 2013 Author Report Posted September 11, 2013 It'd also be nice to leap frog the Pirates and have the playoff game at home...That would certainly be a plus. With 6 games still remaining against the Pirates, that is possible. Quote
skyline Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 Well, they avoided the sweep today, so at least there's that... Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 12, 2013 Author Report Posted September 12, 2013 1 out of 3 from the 2nd worst team in the NL, when only a game out of first toward the end of the season ??Wow, just wow. Quote
